1.Is this gonna be the case till end of this generation?

2.are they gonna fix the future comming games like Bayonetta for ps3 version?

3.am i better off getting the multiplats for my xbox360?

4.does anyone know if the next generation will be backward compatible with this gen?

1.Is this gonna be the case till end of this generation?

Who knows? A lot of more current multiplats have been fairly even, and the very few can look slightly better on PS3.

2.are they gonna fix the future comming games like Bayonetta for ps3 version?

No, more than likely they will not be fixed.

3.am i better off getting the multiplats for my xbox360?

That depends on you. Do you like achievements over trophies? Do more of your friends play 360 than PS3? Can you live with the minor graphical/technical differences (in most cases)?

4.does anyone know if the next generation will be backward compatible with this gen?

It's not possible for us to know that until we get information regarding the next gen consoles.

1. Probably. Atleast until sony's dev kits are cheaper than MS's.

2. Doubt it. I wouldn't worry about bayonetta so much. It's made by a different company.

3. Yes. Unless you have friends getting the PS3 version.

4. No clue.

well most of my friends do have 360 but i always liked the controller on ps3 and always liked the part that games are on blue-ray, is blue-ray really help ps3 games? can the future games take advantage of space on blue-ray? does it even matter at all to devs?

Devs can take advantage of the extra space. However that will not lead to things like improved graphics etc, as the rest of the hardware in the PS3 is limited.

Only a certain amount of information can be displayed before things like FPS take a huge hit and the game becomes unplayable.

In the next generation of consoles Blu-Ray will be a much bigger use, as they will not be using the 2x drive like the PS3.

I really can't tell a difference between anything. I go by this: Xbox plays games more crisp and clear/defined, plays dark/blacks really bad. PS3 has more motion blur, but plays the dark colors exceptionally well, much better tbh. That's why Gears of War is more like Flowers of War, if it was on PS3, the dark scenery would be more valid. People just let themselves get fooled by their own bias, because what they have has to be the superior. Well, one does something better and vice versa.

It helps that the games don't get scratched as easily. But a lot of games have required installs on the PS3. If you like the controller better, I'd get single player games on ps3 and multiplayer games on 360 if I were you since you have more friends on the 360. As for blu-ray mattering to devs, it hasn't seemed to matter for multiplatform games since even if they could use the extra space, they try to make both versions of the game equal. But dragon age shows that uncompressed textures on the ps3 version benefited against the compressed textures on the 360 version.

Agreed. 2x drive is a major limitation for starters. The extra space is nice, but keep in mind that it requires a company to spend more time and resources to create the game. So more space can be the devil to companies. PS3 games were prospected at $70 dollars back in '05, thankfully for those who supported it, they were put down to the 60 dollars Xbox was already at. There's a supposed 8 layer Blu-ray disk that would hold 400 gb, if we go towards that, we can expect a game to cost as much as a console.

I completely agree with silverchimera.....

Blu-ray is a major plus but the installing of its games is such a hassle, takes me 5+ min just to even play the damn game...

So I just get multi for my 360 and Sony exclusives for ps3, Does Wonderful things

Why do they look better on the 360, it is simple. The main PPE of the Sony chip is very similar to that of the 360 CPU. A game is easier to develop on the 360 Microsoft have been in the development space for many years, and they development tools and SDKs are by far better (having worked with MS Development tools for some 12 years, I know how they have improved). They take this code, and port it over to the PS3, very little is needed it to get it working. That is working. Most of the effort in improving the overall game is done on the 360, the PS3 version, is now optimised to the point of making it run as smooth as possible. This can come from a variety of ways, reducing the texture size, increase the texture compression, each of these things, improve the speed of the drawing and therefore the FPS of the game, these don't improve the visual quality of the game. What this does in essence is making the PS3 version run specifically on a single core (the PPE), and the 360 has been improved to work across the 3 cores of the CPU. The PS3 PPE will offload some tasks to the SPEs when it is able to, but these will eb very limited indeed since they aren't writing the code to be used specifically for SPE and therefore all the work is done by the PPE. (The PPE is the main unit within the Cell, it offloads the work it needs to SPEs when it is done properly). As you can see games developed for the PS3 exclusivly are far better looking that anything exclusive than the 360. Now, there has been multi-platforms that look better on PS3 than 360, Dragon Age Origins is an example of this, and it seemed that because the graphic requirment for this game is good, isn't very taxing on the system, leaving some more room for bigger textures (Blu-Ray), the 360, needs to compress them more, making them muddier and less clear because of the DVD space restriction. I hope this helps

Something tells me that Sony will be on a new media type for the next gen. But as far as space goes, There hasn't been 1 game I've seen where gameplay is better due to space. I know that FF13 will be on muti disc for the 360 but I don't think the PS3 version will run or play any better because it's all on 1 disc. I really think you're gonna see less and less content in game and more DLC anyway.

It will look on par or even better on PS3 if they start the development on the PS3 hardware first.

Multiplats for the most part are 99% the same. ACII MW2 GTAIV all look 99% the same. PS3 sometimes has a slight edge (Dragons Age, Batman: AA), 360 sometimes has a slight edge (Teken 6), some rare instances where the 360 has a better game (Beyonetta) make the fanboys go wild. The reason PS3 multiplats sometimes look worse is because most developers use the 360 as their main platform, as it makes it easier to port to PC, and then they work on the PS3 version last, and just slap it together and make sure it works. This makes sense from a business standpoint, because the 360 usually sells better.

So the PS3 handles contrast better :| How did you end up into this conclusion?

Who cares what games look like? I think it's just because ps3 is still considered a pain to develope for. One could argue ps3 exclusives look better than 360 exclusives most of the time

It's not the case with every multiplat- Dragon Age and Tekken 6 are better on the PS3. Bayonetta is the first one since Ghostbusters where the differences were really big, so I would just split multiplats evenly between the two.

the 360 is easiest to code for, and the ps3 generally gets some dirty port of a game designed to take advantage of xbox hardware. As floppy_jim said, it's not always the case

Third party devs don't care about whether or not they can take advantage of the Cell. They are not going to spend millions of dollars in research to correct Sony's mistakes in making the PS3 hard to program for. Third party devs only care about making money... thats it...

If the Xbox 360 has the better multiplats, then why is it not doing 1080p with 4xAA and 16xAF at 60fps like my PC version?

Just a thought....

OOOOhhh my bad, were just comparing PS3 and Xbox 360 and leaving out the PC as usual again, right?

i can't worry about something as shallow as the graphics not being as good for ps3 multiplats when most of the time it's just a minor debatable issue made up mostly of opinion

besides that, i'm too busy worrying about the easily seen and non-objective multiplat problem of xbl stomping psn all over the playground

The xbox has 3 cores while the ps3 has 1 core and 7 sub cores. Its a lot easier for developers to make the game for the xbox then bring it over to the ps3 and since the game is using 3 cores for the xbox and only 1 for the ps3 is the reason most multiplats are better looking on the xbox. Look at uncharted 2, it uses all the cores for the ps3 and look amazing.

This. Plus why even bother when PS3 is still being stuck in 3rd place & that most PS3 versions of games doesn't exactly sell as well as 360 versions do?

The alternate is to get a good gaming PC, which of course, will always be better than both console versions put together, such as Dragon's Age Origins, not unless certain games don't come out to the PC at all.
