So whats the latest on GT5?

I have heard all sorts of rumors about release dates, the most recent was off a brochure from GamesCom, saying something about Q4 this year? I am not a huge racing fan ever since Burnout sold out (Didn't like the Paradise demo, so I skipped it :/) racing games have been meaningless to me. but GT5 seems to have something cool about it. Forza looks great too, but I don't have a 360, so, GT5 exclusivelyfor me :D

Anyway, does anyone know anything more recent about this, or are we still up in the air? Also, I know this sounds crazy and noob, but are we sure it has split screen (local) multiplayer? Because as I'm sure you're all aware, lately games have been leaving out this feature. Which is ridiculous, especially for racing games.
