I love it, I'm on the last "level".
I can understand why people were disappointed with it though. A common complaint is the repetitiveness, but I don't mind that, because I never get tired of sneaking up behind a guy and dropping the hidden blade on him or sniping archers with throwing knives.
And I never get tired of the free-running either, although it might have been better if they didn't make climbing everything automatic. If there was some sort of feature that they could have put in to make it difficult to climb things that would have been cool, because then you would feel like you accomplished something when you make it to the top of a view point. However, the automatic climbing is kind of nice, because it helps keep the pacing of the game consistent.
A lack of patience is whats going to hurt you if you attempt to play this game. If you can't wait for a guard to move or for a harasser to leave you alone, you are going to get frustrated and just start killing all the guards, at which point you are going to complain about the combat. The game is 10x better if you actually play like an assassin and stealth kill all the bosses.
Personally, I wish the game became a lot harder if you were noticed and got into a fight. When you are discovered, dealing with the guards is more of an annoyance than anything. You either have to fight wave after wave of them or just keep running away until you can hide. I think its pretty stupid that the guards can outrun you, but they completely suck at fighting. It would have been better if it was actually difficult to fight 10-20 guys at a time (as it realistically is) instead of being very easy and simplistic. It would discourage the player from getting noticed and just fighting their way through the game. I also think you should get some sort of bonus for stealth killing the bosses as an incentive to do so.
The glitches are nothing major. The game looks great, even in standard definition. Didn't really notice the music. The sound effects are pretty good.
So yeah, its a good game that could have used a major boost in difficulty (like Bioshock) and been a little more fleshed out in terms of stuff to do.
