Could be for any reason. Sh_tty practices, sh_tty games, etc.

My vote's Ubisoft. But that seems pretty cliche at this point.

What about choo guyz? Give your reasons below and if you give the wrong reasons I will personally have you flogged. But maybe you like flogging? In which case I'll say I'll have you flogged, but won't do any actual flogging.

Oh, and here's a nice song just in case you have nothing to say, but don't want to leave empty-handed.

Probably one of those shady “developers” that pump out those cheap asset flip games.

AAA? Probably Firewalk. Released one dud and now they're gone.

Currently still running? Toss up between Blizzard and Ubisoft for me.

Honestly, I don't play many bad games.

There's plenty of bad publishers but I don't really know of any bad developers off the top of my head.

Exactly. This goes back to folks spending so much time hating on games they don't like and/or not interested in playing. More common among the older gamers.😂

I mean, I don't either. I can't remember the last "bad game" I played. Probably Ass Creed 1, looong time ago. I stick with what I know I'll like. It's not like the fact I only play good games prevents me from being able to see what a bad dev is, lol.

I can't say their the worst because I've received so many free games from them, but seeing Epic games go from Unreal Tournament and Gears of War to watching a kid play as Ariana Grande dance shoot her way to freeing Mariah Carey from ice in Fortnite made me feel a tremendous sense of loss that I hadn't felt since that star wars Kinect game came out.

So, with that I'll say insert Sony studios name here, Fromsoft and Kojima.

Worst: I dunno. Probably some asset flip developer you and I never heard of.

Worst from games I played in Recent memory: FromSoft. Elden Ring is one of my least favorite games of all time.

I feel attacking Ubisoft ha become trendy.

Honestly last time, people were complaining so much about how the lead protagonist of their star wars game looked like. But I thought she looked just fine.

Bioware doesn't make enough games to be considered the worst as they take huge pauses and leave seemingly forever before bringing in another trainwreck, and Ubisoft do make some games people enjoy.

So going to state Bethesda Game Studios; Starfield is at best mixed-negative, it''s DLC was hated, Fallout 76 was considered awful and that had many expansions mostly hated.. The Elder Scrolls Blades exists and is absolute shit.. and Fallout 4 was again mixed-negative. They keep teasing a close to fifteen year sequel to Skyrim but have nothing to show for it. This 'leaked' Oblivion Remake is completely outsourced because Bethesda Studios can't handle the project (which should say something)

Yeah. It's Bethesda Game Studios. Without a doubt (not the publisher, the developer)

This and many other reasons is why I hope for The Wayward Realms success.

Ubi, Blizz, EA, the uzhe.

Ubi made a good game in PoP: TLC though. So they obviously can make good stuff when they want to. It's just that they almost never want to. Even less so now probably, now that PoP: TLC sold badly.

I honestly don't know how to answer this question. I mean Ubisoft has had an incredibly poor return on investment lately it would seem ... So from a financial perspective they are bleeding out if reports are to be believed ... That said, I can't help that people didn't play lost crown last year despite being one of the most competent metroidvania games in the genre. So 🤷

The dev that made Concord no longer exists or they'd stake a claim as well...

Then there are absent developers like Naughty Dog that haven't made a game this generation competent enough to even be released. A couple remastered games and a failed project is factually worse to me than Bioware releasing a dragon age game that some people liked and some didn't ... So 🤷

It's tough to size up...

Nice to see another person hyped for Wayward Realms.

In fact, They even replied to one of my posts on Twitter :O And gave me some information on how disease works in the game.

Very difficult to give a realistic answer ... based on the responses in this thread maybe Rockstar. One new game in over a decade , and it doesn't even have particularly good gameplay, while primarily focusing on milking GTA online.

@Maroxad: The community manager for the game is very active, whether it be on KickStarter, Twitter, Steam Page, or Youtube. They've got a big showing coming up too, I believe they're ready to show off some of the upcoming demo which is still set to release 2025.

All the worst developers are the ones that release broken and unfinished games.

Bethesda chief among them.

I feel like we're at a point where it's almost impossible to say, because the likes of Ubisoft, Bioware, Bethesda etc. have effectively traded on reputations from times gone by and the teams that made the games that propelled those studios to being well thought of are either no longer there or no longer exist in a structure that delivers the results people enjoyed, Ubisoft's troubles are well known but to me Bioware and Bethesda are more interesting examples. For Bethesda both 76 and Starfield show there is no one at the helm with a clear vision for what they want these games to be and where the fun comes from it is a classic example of teams growing too big and becoming unwieldy, if ES6 ends up in the same situation expect major major changes to follow. Bioware is even stranger as for all the noise around the "woke" stuff in veilguard it's actually solid mechanically speaking and performance wise, it's completely dropped the somewhat dark fantasy aesthetic of dragon age and this is where I think a massive mistake has been made, the team that made veilguard made a game that definitely would have found an audience but was marketed to an audience that has basically been waiting for a game as well written as origins that looks prettier and people kinda got that with BG3 but obviously not the same universe so for me Veilguards failing is a game aimed at the wrong people and the Dragon age name fundamentally hurt this game, Anthem was another case of a game that visually was great, had some great mechanical aspects (flight in particular) but no actual full game built around these strong points so much like 76 Anthem suffers from alack of cohesive vision with both titles clearly focussed on being "live service" and little else, Andromeda similar to Veilguard would have been a fine entry in its' genre but was aimed at an audience expecting a well written Third person shooter/rpg effectively more mass effect, that wasn't the title the team made and ultimately Much like the Dragon age name hurt Veilguard the Mass Effect name hurt Andromeda. What I'm getting at is whilst studios have clearly failed/underperformed in multiple instances the failures seem to focus more on a lack of creative vision or failure to manage teams effectively rather than any shortcoming in developer ability. So are we suffering with bad developers or badly managed developers?

It has to be Rockstar right? Living off GTA Online and only releasing one game since 2013 while the rest has been remasters or remakes with one remaster (GTA Trilogy) using AI to upscale and causing all kinds of issues with the graphics at launch.

The other one would be one of my favorite developers, Naughty Dog. They have released one new game since 2013 and the rest have been remasters and remakes of their PS3/PS4 library of games. Last of Us Part II was only 4 years old when it got a remaster and Last of Us Part I has a remaster and a remake within a 10-year period.

I look at these 2 companies and compare them to Insomniac who released 8 AAA games in the same time and all of them with the exception of Fuse (which I did not play) have been really enjoyable to me.

If you are looking for bad games, I couldn't tell you. I tend to only play games I know will be good. If a game isn't my cup of tea while looking at previews, reviews, and user thoughts, I don't generally play it. I never day 1 a game unless it is Nintendo since their games don't really drop in price and even buying them day 1 is a rarity anymore.

Just my opinion of course.

@iambatman7986: Rockstar first has to make games to be considered the worst.

The well-memed remasters are outsourced with Rockstar not even checking-in for quality preservation. Sure it makes them look like lazy incompetent slobs, but I think calling them a game developer is generous_

Red Dead Redemption 2 is seven years old. Grand Theft Auto V is eleven years old.

Grand Theft Auto VI is on the way, however we don't know much so whether it be great or shit is all questionable. Right now it's giving heavy Duke Nukem Forever vibes, game may not even exist & only begun development a week ago (probably also outsourced)

Even calling Rockstar 'the biggest fall from grace' is up for debate. What with Blizzard, Ubisoft, Bioware, Konami, and Bethesda all clamoring for the title.

@nirgal: The girl in SW Outlaws actually looked pretty good, but there were a lot of scenes in the trailers when her facial animations kept borking out. I get that the game was pretty buggy, but the marketing department really dropped the ball putting those scenes in.

Konami is objectively bad now, because they're not pushing to make creative games anymore. I was never really fond of EA, and I still don't care for them. Another one is Activision-Blizzard. The games they make are inferior to games made by others.
