before the year ends.
Sony is the one to blame. GT5 was ready to be shipped, but ever since the 'Jailbreak' incident, Sony wanted every game to require a firmware version of 3.42 or higher. so it took Polyphony 2 days or so to implement the whole thing, but then there were no slots available immediately for Bluray production. since the game got delayed a couple of days, the factory that writes and produces Bluray has their schedule loaded with producing movies (B-rated ones that no one cares about). and so Sony has to wait for the company to finish their current Bluray productions so that GT5 will be ready to be manufactured.
Yeah I'm hoping we won't have to wait 'til 2011. *Oh!* I said it :)Before the end of the year.

I heard different, I heard that it was a 'last minute executive decision' but I wouldn't be surprised if what you said were true.before the year ends.

Like I said it is manufacturing issues. I had it confirmed today.
The problem arose when SCE mandated SDK 350 on all games releasing after after October, GT5 was about to go gold running on SDK 341, but it has been delayed by around a week so that they can update to SDK 350. This has caused a big headache for the manufacturing side, given how big this game is missing the gold date by even a week can cause a months worth of delay as slots are already taken up at this time of year for Blu-ray movies and such. So Sony had to find a 3 week slot big enough to make 7m+ copies of this and get them shipped out.
If you want to blame anyone, I would direct it at the pirates and hackers, SCE never had any real SDK restrictions before firmware 3.41 was compromised.

Although the TCs of these kind of topics tend to avoid the hype thread.

Er excuse me sir (or madam) there is no stickied hype thread, or at least not anymore. I did post in that hype thread about a week ago but it has since dropped amongst all the other dead threads. Please Log In to post.
