You have no idea how business works.

Sony is in a really, really bad financial position right now and unless they come up with a cure for cancer are probably going to go under. It's probably what's putting the 1 TB PS4 behind schedule. MS already has a confirmed 1 TB model on the way (CoD: AW bundle) and strong rumors of a slim model incoming only a year after release.

If Sony spun off the PS division no way they could keep up with MS' marketing budget as well as invest money into their crappy online infrastructure.

I personally hope Amazon steps up and buys the PS division atleast. If there's one company I love dealing with it's Amazon. I personally have never dealt with Sony customer service but in the last few years I've heard some horror stories.
