So where's the hype for XCOM: Enemy Unknown?

I understand why the shooter isn't being hyped, but where's the hype for the TBS (Turn Based Strategy) one?

I mean the PS3 and Xbox 360 are also getting it. I know they prefere their Call of Duty but the lack of hype even from the PC community is truely shocking. Not to mention EVERY thread of PC exclusives for 2012 lack Xenonauts (an Indie company pretty much remaking to the letter).

It's TBS, and it's from an old school series. You won't be getting much hype until 2-3 weeks from release. And even then it won't be from the majority of PC gamers.tagyhag

Evenb more odd is the Valkyria Chronicles fans should love it, though most are Japanophiles so I doubt they'd care since it's not from Japan.

1) Not pushing graphics tech
2) No anime or gritty space marines
3) Doesn't look srs bsns
4) Not in first person

I originally thought this would be a downloadable game, but I'm not willing to drop $60 bucks for it. The game does look fun though. I'll wait for a price drop.MercenaryMafia

Meh... I just think TBS games in general are boring.

Carcassonne (XBLA) is probably the only TBS game I really got into. But that's partly because of online multi-player with friends.

I'm hyped to Honolulu and back! I just know it's not the kind of game SW gets all crazy about.

It's not Graphics King hype-able, no matter the fanboy or bullshots:P

The franchise has been silent longer than most here have been playing, and irrelevant for several years before that

It's not exclusive

It's still 3 months out

I'd bet we see a Hype thread about it a couple weeks before launch, until then you'll just hear a lot more complaining than praise.

I'm hyped about it. Looks sick and Firaxis always delivers.

I don't even mind some of the simplifications of gameplay, because Xenonauts will satisfy my thirst for more faithful X-COm successor anyway.

I'm looking forward to it. Never got into the old X-Coms, but everything I heard from this one sounds excellent. A new X-Com from Firaxis is almost too good to be true.
