Have people forgotten that Nintendo tried to convince us that a heart rate monitor is actually a gaming peripheral? Or Wii Music as a revolutionary product?

Actually you left the biggest hype machine off the list; Square Enix is without a doubt the worst offender not on the list. Every FF or Dragon Warrior game is made out to be single greatest experience to be had playing a game. Ever. When they are finally released after delay followed by more delays, they are average at best.

They're all terrible, but no one overhypes products more than fanboys.

Sony. As bad as Molyneux is, at least he comes across as sincere. When Sony lets their execs loose, they just come across as evil for the sake of evil.
