First paragrah reads as follows...

As 2008 dawned, it appeared as if the gaming industry would emerge from its postholiday stupor older, wiser, and cash-flush in the wake of months of stellar games. Indeed, the unequivocally successful holiday 2007 retail season led the industry to $17.9 billion in domestic sales, a staggering 43 percent year-over-year climb. Add in PC games, and that domestic figure closed in on $19 billion

Wow so PC gaming only added 1.1 billion! Wow I wonder who this makes dominate in the gaming industry??

There have only been two measurements of winning when at SW. Sales and Games. When using games GS's scores are the only metric that counts.

PC = Games

Wii = Sales

1. The figures are for 2007 2. WoW alone made more than 1.1 billion 3. the 17.9 billion sale if for the software, hardware and accessories for all the consoles combined So please tell me what did you deduced from that regarding who dominated/won 2008 ?

Yet another anti PC thread, do you really have to troll like this every day? Obviously we all have to be careful how we respond to your hate threads as you tend to feel your being picked on unfairly?

Well thats all the ownage I needed to see today lol. Seriously how many Anti PC threads are you going to make? We get it you don't like PC's. We don't need a constant reminder everyday that you don't. We aren't going to forget it.

PC number are much lower and goes as follows by the link given

Best-selling PC Games of 2007, by units sold
1. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Expansion Pack--Vivendi Games--2.25 million
2. World of Warcraft--Vivendi Games--914,000
3. The Sims 2: Seasons Expansion Pack--Electronic Arts--433,000

[UPDATE]: The NPD Group has since issued a corrected list of the best-selling PC games of the year. NPD doesn't count digital distribution now does it? And by your logic of the sales game the Wii wins as I told you yesterday when you kept ignoring your own logic.

PC got the most and best games this year.

The Wii got the best sales this year.

Are you tryign to make the point that all consoles combined along with handheld devices outsold PC games sales?

Can you show PC hardware figures for the year 2008 please?

tenaka2

How many of those AA+ games got awards this year? Best graphics? GotY? Ah that = none ;)

Your stats if you can call them that are bogus. Seeing how most PC game sales are through digital distribution which the NPD doesn't track.

And yet none of that matters here in SW only GS's score. I suggest you go over to the gaf, gametrailers, or 1UP forums or something.

An AA+ game is an AA+ game, regardless of what awards it got. And, ultimately, everyone has his or her own standards for GOTY, best graphics, etc. Gamespot certainly has theirs.

And, honestly, your consistent bashing of PC gaming is alarming. Do you somehow feel threatened by PC gaming? You certainly act like it. What areyou so afraid of? Honestly, why must you copy and paste new threads every signle day using the same argument, even thought you've been proven wrong time and time again.

What's with always putting FACT in capitals? It doesn't make it any more factual.

A simple fact may deceiving. When in the court of law, you are asked to speak the "truth and the whole truth." That is because there is a difference between simple "facts," and thw whole truth. You always cling to simple facts. But those simple facts don't at all give an accurate picture of the picture as a whole. At all. Yes, you posted NA domestic sales. But those do not iunclude Digital Distribution, which is absolutely HUGE. It does not include the amount of money publishers and developers are making. There are more ways for publishers and devs to make money other than domestic sales.

So while you often have "facts" to back you up, you don't have the whole truth. You are in denial. Every single thread. And you most certaibnly do get owned in every single thread. You just simply deny it. Most SW users, even console only gamers will attest to the fact you've been owned in almost every single thread you make. Because of your logic and your denial.

I didn't say anything, you're putting words into my mouth. I asked a question that you didn't answer. What does price have to do with anything? Then again I spent $200 on just a PC case, to each his own. If you like "cheaper" things then yes consoles do dominate. Personally I think PC is less hassle. I have 12 games installed, and I never have to switch a disk. Or goto the store to buy a game. I download all my games. Was playing Wotlk right at 12, no standing in line for me.

Go Go Console Gaming! Du, du, du, du, du!

Go Go Console Gaming! Du, du, du, du, du!

Go Go Console Gaming! You Mighty Morphin Console Gai-eh-ming!

I'm sorry but I find it freaking hilarious how the console Mavericks go at eachother left and right when its Wii/360/PS3 but when PC is involved all of a sudden they are united like the freaking MegaZord. Not only this but they all count as one platform instead of three individual ones.

But I guess they are all one platform just like THE MEGA ZORD!!!

^Acording to IDC the number of x86 PCs sold in 2008 is 302.3 million units (desktops, notebooks and servers). Acording to iSuppli notebook PC shipments in the third quarter of 2008 was 38.6 million units.

So I guess the PC won again the sales numbers. :D

And NPD doesn't track online distribution and online gaming and their revenues. I gues poor Blizzard has to do with sales only, and not any monthly subscribers revenue witch acording to NPD doesn't exist.

NPD...NPD...NPD... Do you not see what the problem is? PC gaming is much much bigger in Europe and Asia. Also NPD doesn't include DD. This has probably been told to you dozens of times but you still can't take the hint it seems. It's also sad that you have to pin 3 platforms to one. This thread couldn't have failed any harder.
