Anybody else in this boat? I've never played another MGS all the way through and I was more confused after a friend explained the overarching story up to this point than during my first discussion with a professor on the physics behind the Big Bang.

The gameplay looks so good though...lol

I'm so in, I bought two copies (not joking, though done by mistake).

My issue is finding the time. Weekends only this semester, it would seem.

There are a few articles / videos out there that will bring you up to speed.

I read up on it myself because I missed Peace Walker - now on Episode 2 of MGSV and have a fairly good idea whats going on for once.

so far I have played every Metal Gear game so far, so yeah, I'm getting it. Had a lot of doubts about it after the demo, but reviews have been nothing short of glowing, so picking it up (would in any case).

Be playing Ultimate Doom, a game that respects your intelligence.

Got my PS3 copy coming today.

Took off work tomorrow to play the whole day.

My PS4 collector's edition arrives Thursday. (I don't have a PS4 but you bet I need this edition before it's gone forever and its already hard to find.)

Stores are closed by the time I get home from work. I'll just leave early on Friday. It's not like I have much time to play during the week anyway, so I can chill out and play it through the weekend.

Bought it, Love it, GOTY.....end of story.

I'll have to play the other metal gear games first before I get this one, and they're still a few games down the list on my backlog lol. I'll probably be playing this one in a year's time.

Well, I have all the MGS Collector's Editions they released in my region and the C.E. for MGS5 is only for consoles. The case will look nice on the shelf alongside the other MGS games.

As a collector, I also avoid DRM DD copies of games whenever possible so although I have four gaming PCs, I'm getting the PS4 C.E. 1080p version. I may pick up the PC version on the cheap though down the road.

Nope. But I did get the PS4 collector's edition of the game since I'm a collector all things metal gear. I'll have one eventually but for now this will have to suffice.

@ToScA-: I decided on the PS4 to nearly complete my collection. I need Metal Gear Solid PS1. I will get the PC version eventually for the full experience. The remote play was the deciding factor. I hope my Vita can handle it well enough.

Cool. I'll likely end up getting the PC version but play the game on my HDTV using a PS4 controller. Quite a compromise :P
