Sales is the Wii.
Library is the 360.
Take from that what you want.

From what I hear the Turbografx-16 and Sega CD appear to be dominating.
I heard Virutal Boy is making a strong comeback.
the wii because sheep are happy with dreamcast and DS ports, mediocre rpg's like tales of symphonia, 32 mario games a year, mini games, and a gamecube with motion control.prodiqy32
Mad fanboy rant of the day! Well done, chap!

Pffft, you Virtual fanBoys would. The Jaguar is where it's at, *****es :PHere's my quick fanboy rant:
My problem with the PS3 is that it's lack of hardware and throughput gives it a disadvantage for graphics. I mean, the 360 and PS3 graphics cards are close in power, but the 360 has double the ram. This means sharper textures. The throughput on the 360's architecture is quadrouple that of the PS3 meaning that large scale maps, with lots of hi res textures and higher polygon counts are capable to process faster, again giving the visuals the best boost possible. Where the PS3 is great is it's CPU, howver any corss platform game will have equal AI for both systems, but the graphics will be different. A developer can't change the AI cause it changes the gameplay. They CAN change the graphics and tweak them more on the 360, cause the gameplay is still the same.
That being said, another thing to look at is software sales. Even if the PS3 sells more eventually, the way to tell if its because of the bluray player is by software sales. If EA for exampls makes 100 games for the console in ayear or two, and the 360 sells 60% more than the PS3 versions of the same thing, then it goes to show that people are buying games for the 360 over the ps3, even if the ps3 has a higher install base. This means that MS is making money, and winning the console race, even if installed base numbers do not reflect this. Thats why isntall base has no true meaning in terms of console wars, and software sales speak the real truth. 360 > ps3 for games.
As for who's winning, well obviously Nintendo is in terms of console sales... But who's winning in software sales?
Wii
Cows and lemkids will be in denial but Wii is officially allready won this generation. And it will continue to dominate both sales and software wise trough the years.
Nintendo ftw! Only kids care about chainsaws and Gears of Garbage.

The software argument is valid, but only to a point. What winner of any previous gen has trailed in consoles sold?

I agree, but software sales are the force that drive gamers to a certain console in mass. PS2 had some killer games, and hten it's console sales skyrocketed, but not the other way around.
sega mega drive takes the piss out of all you rich kidssoren008Only when you have the 32X with it :D
[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]But if you want a winner.
Sales its the wii
Game Library its the 360
This is just consoles.
Library its PC, but we cant ever measure sales for it in a proper way.02152008
Why would you like to purchase Wii just because it's selling significantly?
DS Killed the PSP in every way. That battle is over
On the console side. Wii is winning sales, 360 is winning games an PS3 is gaining ground the quickest. It's anybody's game

Then explain the Wii defying this force. Obviously there are other forces at work that we are seeing that are "trumping" what you call "the force." The early start and superior library for the 360 being counteracted by the bloody RROD. The PS3 reputation hardware (especially the Bluray) being counteracted by lack of software and initial high price.

The wii has the highest software sales over the three. 360 over ps3. So how is my explaination wrong?
