So why buy a PS3?

MGS is ok but not a system seller. Plus its been multi- platform last gen so why not again? Most likely it will have to be for Konami to make any money at all.

I was going to say MGS, but you already mentioned it.

If I were to buy a PS3 in the near future, MGS would be the main reason why.

Then you can always say the new FF games coming out and Killzone 2 look interesting.

Add GT5, and those are the games I am definately going to get. I might get Killzone, but meh FPS games... Hopefully they will make that FFVII game they were supposedly showing at TGS.

P.S. Why wasn't there any news about Star Ocean 4 on gamespot?! Did SE's booth require a ticket?

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a system seller. You may as well say Halo 3 wasn't a system seller.

What does it matter what anyone says in this thread? No matter how many worthwhile games a person will list as reasons to purchase a PS3, fanboys will just disregard them.

Because everyone knows Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo are just games for a very small niche. They don't move systems at all, am I right? Amarite?

JRPGs are the big reason to get PS3.

MGS4 is too big for DVD9.

And considering the fact that a reasonable amount of gamers consider MGS3 to be the best game on the PS2, MGS4 is reason enough to get a PS3.

Anyways, I would buy a PS3 when:

A game I want to play is out (nothing even close atm).

Blu-Ray makes some serious inroads into the real movie market (not HD DVD).

It is under $300 (i.e. a year or two from now).

Couldn't be more wrong. MGS2 sold more copies (7 million) than any other game last gen except for Halo 2, the GT games, and the the GTA games.

Ask yourself this. Im not a MGS or FF fan. So honestly, what purpose does a PS3 serve me? Multiplats are almost always better on the 360 AND I have a high end PC. Any and every game I want is on PC and 360. I would be wasting my time even considering purchasing a PS3...... :shock:
