I see that Manhunt 2 will be on the wii/ps2, I guess with all these "sorta ports" floating around on the wii and nothing really new, is it safe to say the wii is about the same as a ps2 in terms of gfx's and games these days ? With the games on display as of today, surely the followers of the wii must concede to this. The new system of shovelware is here.

depends on how much they change. i'm guessing that ask we'll only see true 3rd party wii effects out at the end of the year or next year since they didn't plan on the wii being successful. if it gets the support that the ps2 got through it's life, i'd be happy.

I'm sure these games are/will be on PS2 too

  • Dewy's Adventure
  • Treasure Island ZX
  • Resident Evil UC
  • No More Heroes
  • Project O
  • Space Station Tycoon
  • Swords of Legendia
  • NiGHTS
  • SSX Blur
  • Sonic and the Secret Rings
  • Opoona

I can go on naming others but I'm just showing you that no PS2 =/= Wii in games

Actually the Wii version is being done by a separate development studio, so it certainly isn't a port.

So there's never been 360 ports of PS2 games?

Guitar Hero 2 comes to mind.

Also, games that come out on different systems at the same time aren't ports; they're multiplat.

What?? How can the Wii ='s the ps2 when the gamecube was MORE POWERFUL than the ps2 and the Wii is MORE POWERFUL than the GC.

Theres not much we can do about what the graphical quality of the games devs are pumping out right now but we can only hope this is to cash in on the sucsess of the Wii and that the next wave should be a significant improvement!!!

Yes, because obviously logic works like this.

a>b

c>a

Therefore c=b.

It all makes sense!  Thank you for explaining how that logic worked!  Amazing!  C and B are both greater then and less then a!  I get it!

Yea right, like thats going to happen. PS2 games look great for the hardware, Wii games will wind up looking like Ninja Gaiden Black within the next year or so which is something the PS2 cant do.

In all fairness, that is how SW logic works.
