So will the RROD ever be fixed? Also what exactly causes it?

I am a very happy Xbox 360 owner right now, I have been through all the consoles, and the 360 is the one I like best.

I was just curious as to whether you guys think the RROD issues will ever be fixed? Are they already fixed?

Also, what is the exact cause of the RROD? Like what happens inside the console to make it get the RROD? Surely if it was something like overheating they would just add an extra fan or something. So what is the actual technical problem? Surely somebody has figured it out by now.

I AM NOT TROLLING, I just really want to know what you guys think about this and what you know.

Thanks!

RRoD can never be fixed. Only trickled down to a small percentage.

its caused by poor design. MS decided not to fix it as they wanted to beat the ps3 to market. now we are stuck with a system that has good games but is total hardware garbage.

But what actually causes it then? Surely some computer geek somewhere has figured out the technical terms as to what the problem is when RROD occurs.

So you guys think it will never be fixed? Is it even that big of a problen now days though?

One guy said that the RROD is caused by bad lubricant (not sure) or thermal paste which turn into powder and that causes RROD, overheating, disc drive failure.

Solution is to open the box and put better lubricant/thermal paste which will not turn into powder over time.
