This topic is locked from further discussion.
and is HD content really worth $120???
and what use is this HD content without an HDTV anyway???
which would require a hundred dollar investment for the TV anyway giving the cost of this HD content (which I've seen the PS3 on an HDTV. you know it really doesn't look that different from DVD to Blu Ray) at over $1000 dollars...
Another completely ignorant damage control topic from conceru3...
Because I haven't already seen 3 of these today (/sarcasm)

The Elite lacks the one thing the PS3 has relied on, Bluray or in the 360's case, HD-DVD support.Â
In the end, larger HDD is nice, but you add $100 for a WiFi attachment to that $480 and you get :
$580.
In the end, the Elite actually shows that the PS3 is a good deal. I am a 360 guy, but the elite doesn't offer me anything but HDMI and a larger HDD, I wanted a HDDVD player.
Not worth it.Â

Â
Riight ....
So lets compare 120gb 360 to 60gb PS3 but ignore Blu-ray, SD card slots, motion sensing etc.
Lets also ignore the fact that current 360 are not going to buy a new 360 -- but rather just a 120gb HDD for $180 ... which makes their 360 cost preety much the same as 60gb PS3 ...

Yes Sony is not impressed, since they are selling PS3 as a Blue ray player first and then for games, you rmember that advertisement "it plays games too" !!!!!

Riight ....LOL,I hadnt thought about that:$400+180=$580. And it still lacks inbuilt Wi-fi,Blu-ray,a card reader, and free online.

$180 for an hdd is a great option, and this elite is great for people that just recently bought a 360...when nintendo announced the ds lite i was so mad, i sold my ds before the value suffered anymore and am now waiting on price drops, you dont praise things like this if you are a current owner...why am i arguing with fanboys..ughhh bye

they're giving you the option to pay 180 more dollars for 120 gigs of space. They're giving this option a year later they're isolating their 9 million customers is a bad move for everyone. 20 dollars cheaper than a ps3 is not a good deal considering the value of both packages, and adding 180 dollars to a past purchase is ridiculous.[QUOTE="rybe1025"]Most people buy a system for games. Casual gamers will be buying a system for game snot movies. I think only people that want this blue- ray junk is Sony Fanboys. When it comes to being a gamer 120 > 60 gb MS well known for having better online gaming $480 > $600 2 biggest system seller games both on 360 on is a exclusive. Halo and GTA gamers buy to game not watch movies 360 > blue -rayMorisUkunRasikhas it crossed your mind that not just gamers buy gaming consoles. Many bought a ps2 for dvd functionality with the added bonus of having a ps2. A 600 dollar blu-ray player is a steal especially since it is also a ps3.
You do realise the move from VHS to dvd was HUGE, and dvd's played on the NORMAL tv's everyone had !!!!!
Now not only you need a HDTV, but a 1080p one to see the REAL difference, there is just not enough difference and a HUGE expense involved, not with PS2 dvd though
And yes a 600$ Blue ray player is a good price IF you need one or have a good HDTV, but ALL the above are about movies, that are by far not my main entertainment media, GAMES are, and 360 is about games, PS3 only about movies and FF13, that will come to 360 for sure now

What is wrong with my math ?
120/60 = 2, so 360 elite has 2x the HDD of PS3 best version
600-480 = 120$, so that version with 2x the HDD costs 120$ less

So, might i see your math ?
