Socom 4 Beta Impressions

Socom if you don't know already, is a long running third person shooter made by Zipper Interactive. This is Zipper's second game for the Playstation 3 after MAG. While Socom is still what you expect it to be it seems Zipper has decided to incorporate some elements from MAG in order to push the series forward.

Looks Good

Overall, I think it's pretty good and one of the best betas I've ever played. Most of the issues I have with it will be fixed in the main game. Gunplay is great and yeah graphics are lacking, but Socom has never really been about graphics. I could see myself playing it as long as the PS2 Socoms(If I do get it), especially if this one doesn't launch with many issues and Zipper continues to listens to fans.

does it still have clan support? Is there still a lobby browser?

going deciding whether or not to get socom 4 move bundle based off demo when it finnally unlocks for kz3 purchasers... guess I could use that money to buy other games...

I'm pretty positive the KZ3 code will work this Tuesday, the 29th. That's when I'll download it too. :)

Downloaded it yesterday, waited 2hours for it to patch and when it was done, i couldnt connect to the servers ... and havnt tried since.

Impressions so far = Time wasting.

The game barely looks any better than Conflict: Denied Ops. :?

I honestly don't like it very much. It just has a weird feeling to the gameplay, specially after how polished MAG's gameplay was.

It's nice to see something different for a change tho, not another average modern combat fps. Also loving how fluid the game is, seems to be quite higher than 30 fps?

How is the gameplay compared to MGO because that is the only 3rd person shooter I have played and enjoyed online?
