[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Meu2k7"] Abit consolish in some ways yes, I dont like the toned down aspects of UT2004, like the double jump was pretty lame, most of the vehicles are now far too easy to kill with (accurate & deadly at the same time) , the Story mode was abysmal but I didnt expect much different.
Overall, other than graphics, it wasnt impressive, most of the maps wernt that good, some were "WHOA" but most were not, AI was ridiculous.
I dunno i might of been expecting too much, but as suggested, Crysis & UT3 were hyped by Consolites aswell while many games this year have sold better than them and already have comunities put togteher.
My Multiplayer FPS of the year is Team Fortress 2, very well balanced, feels semi like an RPG. great fun. UT3 was just UE3 nerfed UT2004.

I see. Thanks for the commentary. I wish they would just recapture the magic of UT '99 and call it a day. Stop screwing with the formula. UT '99 was perfect, IMO. the series has been trying to recapture that while adding unnecessary stuff ever since.
And where the hell is Facing Worlds in UT3?! That's like...a requirement. :)
A good point was brought up earlier, the main focus of Crysis was selling hardware as Crytek was clearly getting heavy support from Nvidia/Intel. While the game sales ( that is just the US btw, the link you posted ) wont be amazing off the bat. Its hyped up hundreds of thousands to upgrade to the 8800 series, or get new PCs, or even the 9800 series in February.
While not a huge deal to Crysis, these hyped purchases now open EVERY SINGLE PC game available other than Crysis to run perfectly at max settings, therefor helping the system as a whole.
Im sure this was part of thier strategy all along, it makes perfect sense.
Best post in the thread so far.
