It isn't very difficult to just go to a player's profile and just mute them you know? Well thats what I do, if someone trash talks me...
And this also applies to other games like Gears of War and COD4 beta.

Singing kids in the CoD4 beta is the worst ... doesnt help that the game is boring as hell anyway.PC360Wii
Wow... I must've downloaded a different version of the beta. Mine is awesome! Maybe I'll show you how to get it sometime. Great gameplay, awesome graphics, and no annoying kids!
On to Halo 2: I don't play because of all the whiny kids, who will also be going to Halo 3, sadly. Muting is a very poor option because if I mute them I risk the chance of missing the one valuable thing they say all game long, and therefore die or lose the game because I couldn't hear them.
Sure, it's a longshot, having a little kid tell me something useful, but it's not a chance I'm willing to risk in an online game! :P

Meh its just like any other CoD/MoH to me ... witha new setting, gets repetitive fast imo.
Ive played most of the major FPS betas , TF2/Crysis/Quake Wars/Halo 3/Cod 4 , and its the one I enjoyed the least ... (Except Crysis performance issues knocks points down, but its a very cool multiplayer).
Team Fortress 2 is the Major underdog of this year ... blows CoD4 out of the water in all aspects (Raw Fun included) , follow by Quake Wars.

We will see. Halo 3 handles voice chat differently for ranked games.
You can only hear and speak with your own team.
Oh definately, Team Fortress 2 online is a lot better than CoD4, but still I'm having fun with it, and will probably buy it at release because I love the Call of Duty franchise, no matter how similar they all are :).
When Halo 3 comes out I wonder if I'll actually play it. I didn't play Halo 2 online much because I got it so late in the game's life (last September) that I just couldn't get into it. At least with Halo 3, I'm picking it up Tuesday afternoon and will be starting the game with most everybody else, which will be good.
However, Team Fortress 2 > Halo 3 > Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, when it comes to multiplayer :).

Wasn't this always the case? I haven't played it for a long time, but it was always that way wasn't it? I would search for it on Google, but I'm so scared of spoilers that I minimize my "Halo 3" information :P

Kinda. If you were close enough to the other team they could hear you.
The Halo community is horrible. I went to a friends house to play halo 2 on live, and neither of us played it in like a months time, we forgot the crouch button, so we ask on live and everyone in the room starts laughing and shouts out noob, omg, get out, we will own you.Star67
Yeah it is.
It would be fine if it wasn't for the racist and sexual references, especially from kids.
