Looks cool. But honestly, would the heck would have the time and energy to really use HOME? I barely have enough time as it is to play games. I attend college, work fulltime, have and wife and kid and enjoy other activities other than gaming. The onyl real people that will fully use and enjoy home are people that don't have much of a life.
I play video games about 3-6 hours a week. Furthermoe, when I play I only play games online. I have very little time throughout the week to game. Thats why I love xboxlive. Its like putting in a movie. I turn the system on and I let xboxlive find an opponent on my same level and then I PLAY. Takes me about 3 mins max to get into a game against an opponent. I play for about 30 mins and then I'm done. Home just seems to be way too time consuming. I for one don't spend my life playing video games. If given the chance, I could see myself liking HOME for about a week or so and then I would lose all interest. Just seems to much of a gimmick to me. I guess if I had no life and played games online all week long, HOME would be ideal. However, myself and most gamers are NOT like that.
[QUOTE="tango90101"]yep...STILL not worth $600..
wow...people standing around a big room..... "teh xbox live killah"...

Which is why Home is free
you got dam *****
But you do need a PS3 to use HOME. Unless the PS3 is free now as well.
doesn't look the least bit intruiging
if i want to socialize, i want to do so on myspace/facebook - not on the PS network
i can't picture myself asking a girl to "hit me up on playstation home"....ever.
sorry, but gamers on the playstation network aren't the type of people i want to go out and meet/socialize with
when i'm on the playstation/xbox live network, i just want to play the damn game - thats it thats all
and i could imagine that many other people are the same - and thats why i don't think this thing will take off
it all seems rather useless. it looks kind of interesting at first, but really i don't see myself using it regularly after a week.
I don't get how you can complain. It's free, it's an optional service that could be used for matchmaking as well as other stuff.
You don't have to use it. It doesn't stop you from playing games, it doesn't add any price for the games you've already got. What's there to complain about? Seriously.
On the other hand, I just paid £15 for 3 months of XBL and I feel dirty. Paying for something that's been free for me on PC/PS2/3. Paying for something that is in my own opinion no way superior. It's not even like I'm paying for the servers on Gears. No dedicated servers, which explains the horrible host --- God I hate this game.

so nowadays we buy consoles for ONE game huh
i see how this logic works now, very very smart
we buy a 600 dollar PS3 for a free service, god im stupid, somebody shoulda filled me in
(/sarcasm)
I know plenty of people that purchased the xbox for Halo and Halo 2. We are talking about things that will help attract consumers to the system. One of the reasons Sony is developing HOME is to try compete with xboxlive and to help attract consumers. This is because they have very few must have games on the PS3 right now and the near future looks pretty bleak. So, yes, if you don't own a PS3 (which MOST people don't) and want to use HOME which is a free service, you have to spend 600 bucks for the system. Understand? Shall I go over it again for you? lol

do i have to make a list of games proving u wrong!! and do i have to tell u that the ps3 has been out for a few months....hell sombody else do it.
[QUOTE="freeload"]Logic! Omg "Faints"....I think it would be crazy of anyone to assume that this will be anything other than a success.
If Beebo, Myspace, Youtube, Messenger, even The Sims or Mii's, have taught us anything, it is that this stuff is appealing to the mass market and a whole range of people will be willing to jump onboard and really get a lot from it.
Once sales of the PS3 increase and Home starts to become more populated I think this will be one of the biggest feathers in Sony's cap...

So true. Personally, I can't wait to do this and make myself in Home and go hang out with SW people in my swank apartment.
[QUOTE="darklord888"]It'll be fun for about 2 or so hours then thats it. It's just like 50 other thingd with better graphics. Try it out, have a bit of fun then forget about it.

dude, it's not that serious..
Home is just an added option for PS3 owners.. it's free of charge and directly available from the cross-media bar.. it allows the Playstation Network service to become more of a "community" while keeping online multiplayer free.. it gives your average Playstation Network user a virtual gaming identity (not unlike the virtual identity Xbox Live users have).. please explain to me again how this is a "bad thing"?..
where's the downside?.. if you dont have time to log-on, then dont.. nobody is forcing you.. but if you do have a little time to kill and want to chat, hang out with guys from your buddylist, check out some new game/movie trailers, play some mini-games, meet some other PS3 owners, and etc, then you can.. once again, where's the downside?.. why shouldnt sony release this service?.. :?..
Home may not appeal to you but the millions of people who regularly log-in to myspace, instant messege on yahoo, chat on internet forums (like Gamspot's System Wars  ), and etc have proven that this type of thing is enjoyabe.. i'm certainly looking forward to it...

Is it? When did sony say that I must have missed it.
HOME sounds like a cool idea but man am I freaking sick about HOME already....Not a game, not a game, we ain't talking about what really matters, we still ain't talking about PS3's games. We talking about HOME. Not the game not the thing the industry was built on, but we talking about HOME.
Uhhhh why can't this thing just come out already so people can live their virtual lives and stop talking about it.
It is almost a fact, home virtual girls will be more attractive then most of the girls in the world.

ummm, you do realize that Home has mini-games that can be played via online multiplayer, ties directly into you Playtation Network username and buddylist, and even displays your gaming "acheivements" via trophies that you can display in Home's hall of fame..
sure, it's not a "game" in itself, but many people feel that it will readily enhance Playstation Network through an increased community awareness, gaming acheivements/trophies, and a way for Sony to finance and continually improve PSN without directly charging the consumer for online multiplayer..
so yea, when we're talking about XBL vs PSN in terms of online gaming services, Home needs to be apart of that discussion.. and thusly, it's here to stay in SW..
