5. Resident Evil 4 was a beautiful GCN title. Rogue Squadron was doing things at launch that developers still haven't done on Wii. Why do you think that is? Are studios getting sloppy on Wii?

Julian: Yes. I'm so disappointed knowing exactly what the Wii can do...I really have to say, boy, am I disappointed! They all have finally figured out...how to do at least basic shaders and a rim light, but that's what everybody does. But I still don't see enough bump and normal-mapping, if any. I still don't see enough post effects, although you would have insane fill-rates with Wii. I don't see any of that. I was digging out Rebel Strike the other day and was looking at it, and we had some people who were visiting ask, "Why isn't anybody else doing this on Wii?" And I am at a loss. I really am.

EXACTLY!

i agree with factor 5. Most developers are just cashing in on th early succes of the Wii, And by doing it they are dragging it down and down... Just be patient and don't buy the crappy ports. Send the right signal to those developers. Make a good game or don't even bother.

Hopefully Nintendo will set the standard as far as graphics go as they normally come up trumps with class titles. I agree with the earlier post that many are purely trying to cash in on the Wii's success but hopefully with more time to get to grips with the console we'll see better games.

For some reason, maybe because it's Retro instead of a Nintendo in-house team, I don't think Metroid will be the game to sell the full graphics potential on the Wii. I don't see any bump mapping or advanced lighting effects in that game and I really think that is what the Wii games need, and are capable of, to look good enough to survive this gen.

We have not seen anything on those games yet so that is a pretty premature view to have.

I personally have not seen any really good looking games on Wii although I have seen a couple that look good enough, like Mario Galaxy...

But the guys at Factor 5 do know what the machine is technically capable of and they can obviously see that it is not being used to it's full potential technically and certainly visually.

I can see that and I don't really know jack about the hardware. All I can, clearly, see is that most of the games currently on Wii don't even look as good as the best GC games and that is just a joke!

The Wii is capable of more and until developers start producing games that look at least as good as the best GC and Xbox games then I think it makes absolute sense to point out that something is up...

Yes. That is how it should be although currently it is more like this:

Wii - GC (sometimes Wii is in this range too) - Xbox - 360/PS3

That is not even funny!

True some devs are lazy about what they've put out but one has to look at the context. Many jumped on the Wii very late and didn't have complete Wii dev kits and rushed to get games out to get money. Which means ports while pure Wii development games, some of which we have previews clearly look a lot better and great (not the best of all time but great all the same). All, ALL developers are out for money, Factor 5 included. Still in the end I really don't give a damn what Factor 5 says. They are making games only for the PS3. Until they make or have plans to make a Wii game their opinion on the system really means nothing in the end and they are talking/commenting for the sake of commenting. They should put their money where their mouth is and show what can be done on the Wii if they have such criticism for other developers. However I don't see them doing that while Sony has them in their pocket. They like others wrote off Nintendo before even seeing what Nintendo had to offer. Others rush to get back on board. They on the other hand can not.

I agree, if Factor 5 is saying that developers aren't pushing the Wii enough in its full potential then why can't Factor 5 make Wii games to show how well the Wii can be after showing off Star Wars: Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike graphics??? They were very impressive and almost looked like today's graphics. But since they don't have any games plan for the Wii, they can just be quiet and not say anything at all.

Hardly. Do you know what is exactly in their CPU and GPU? Don't quote numbers since what matters is actually what is in the chips, how they were built and process data. Nope, no one outside of Nintendo, those that made the chips, and maybe some developers really know (most likely until they push things to see what can be done).

I do like how you try to use my lack of facts as an example to prove a case, you yourself have no facts to prove. Talk about blind faith, sorry I dont deal with that in the console world or I would be a cow, maybe even a sheep. Esp since they have to go back even more generations. I do love how the lazy dev quote ,has been come the sheeps new mantra.

Here's a list of third party developers, courtesy of HeedleGlavin (hope you don't mind!).

The following list consists of confirmed third-party developers on board for the Wii. The list does not include developers that are subsidiaries of companies like Helixe which is now a THQ company. It is important to note that many developers have not confirmed support as yet, but has taken strong interest in Wii development. Second-party developers are not part of this list. It is likely that some developers are missing on this list.

Note: According to Nintendo, 500 studios have received a Wii kit by far.

If Metroid Prime 3 doesn't then all hope is lost.

But we haven't seen any new screens after E3, have we?

Exactly. That's why they're are working on the current gen Wii.

Who? Which great thrid party developer is working on the Wii? Name 3.

Factor 5 developed Rogue Squadron. Factor 5 is now a Sony alligned company. Aside from that little tidbit, I think the Wii has the ability to surpass the XBOX graphically, but that's about it, sheep'll have to just accept that. But look at games like Chronicles of Riddick on the XBOX , still a good looking game so Sheep don't have it so bad.

lol, why do people say wii is last gen? GC, Xbox, PS2 was last gen. I could say the 360 is last gen because all it has is undated graphics, but we all now its current gen along with the ps3 and wii. I honestly hope nintendo wins and completely crushes 360 and ps3, just to put fanboys in their place, and by the way Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden etc will probably flop, just because they have pretty graphics doesnt mean they will be good.

Eventually.......probably take as long as the GC.
So your saying Halo 3, FF13, Tekken 6, Mass Effect, Crysis, Bioshock, etc. etc. are not all candidates for AAA? Who's in denial? Take a look at the Wii's lineup. Only candidates they have is SSBB, Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. There all first party.  The fact is WIi has no great third party games and won't for a long time- end of story.
