What's great about WoW is that it can pretty much be played on any computer. The game itself is 50dollars and a 360 cost a little bit more than that last time I checked.

WoW costs much more than Xbox Live. WoW costs £8.99 per month.

And most people with a PC to run WoW will have a fairly decent system, which costs money. Most people have PCs, but then lets say a graphics card then, that costs money. Also, we're talking the whole Xbox Live enabled library versus one single game.

We're talking about gamers. There's a very small percentage of PCs in the world that are built with gaming in mind. Everyone has a computer, but I hardly doubt every one of those is a gamer.

everyone has a fairly decent computer...and WoW has REALLY low system specs ( I really havent seen a fairly new computer that cant play the game)....I mean hell you could throw a bunch of rocks in a box, call it a computer, and WoW would still find a way to run.

You don't need a gaming computer for WoW. A gamer without a gaming PC can play WoW.

Yeah... You sure about the price though? It's 19.99 around here, 29.99 for the Xpac and 44.99 for the Battle chest with two (outdated) strategy guides.

But why would anyone that isn't a gamer want to go out, buy WoW and subscribe? Same with Live.

Not everyone with a PC hooked up to the net is a gamer. In fact there's much more PCs hooked up to the net for business and other personal uses.

I'll repeat it for the third or fourth time, not everyone that owns a PC is a gamer.

WoW is much more widely received in non-NA territories than the 360 is.

I'll repeat it for the third or fourth time, not everyone that owns a PC is a gamer.

think of it this way.

to play games on xbox live, you need to buy an xbox 360 = what is it 280$ now? plus a memory card $30, plus live 50 a year. plus you need a game, lets say halo 3, 60 bucks.

totally about 400.

to play WOW, all you need is a computer that's less than 5 years old, which about 40 percent of the american population has. (note, that's a guess, i'm not really basing that on anything, correct me if you have facts)

so, those people who have computers already, all they have to do is buy wow 50 $, and pay for it (12$ a month??)

totally about 65 bucks.

in both situations you assume that people have things, like a tv with some sort of sound, and a computer in the wow case..

a lot more people are going to play wow because it's so much cheaper to get into.

Do you bother reading and thinking about what is being discussed in topics before you post?

And lots of people have pcs that can run WoW, 8 million subscribers is impressive, condering they pay 15$ each month and xbox live owners only pay like 60$ every 12 months
