something i love about ps3 exclusives

While i am a hardcore 360 owner ( that doesnt own a ps3...) Theres one thing ive noticed about a bunch of ps3 exclusives tha really impress me, and that is animation quality. Games like uncharted, ratchet and clank future ( and booty aswell), folklore, heavenly sword, little big planet, and more recently ( and one game i especially want to play for its graphics alone even though i dont like the show) naruto; ultimate ninja storm. One thing all this games have in common is extreme fluid animation for its characters ( at the very list the main character). No movement looks wonky, and they are just animated perfectly, moving like real people.

I wish more 360 games had this level of animation instead of relying only on horse power.

I would venture to guess that despite that very probably fact, it is nowhere near the level of consistency and quality that you see on the PS3.

The reason I say this is because an almost silly number of first-party Sony titles have managed to sneak in high-budget mo-cap for bodies and faces.

I think I say something incontroversial when I say that Killzone 2 and Uncharted Drake's Fortune undoubtedly have superior animations to ANY game on the Xbox 360, exclusive or otherwise.

hmmm....that is true

i've found that most ps3 exclusive titles tend to have worlds that feel more alive...for instance R&C:Tod every level has craziness going on every where, uncharted was filled with tons of great little details .....MGS4 made you feel like you were a part of something much bigger.... LBP's graphics blow me completely awayin every regard...and yes, all these games have outstanding animations

and while its not current gen i can't praise shadow of the colossus enough....i still think it looks more impressive than a lot of todays currnet gen games

while i can see why someone would think it looks good.....i just can't find generic anime style appealing

this transcends video games for me also.....while i do respect it to some degree i just don't get inspired or intrigued by it.....i tend to like crazy styles like psychonauts and brutal legend and rare games.......im guessing because they seem to parallel my own artistic style

p.s- i will admit that akira is one of the most amazing things i've ever watched

screw that.....it has amazing animation by todays standards......i cannot get enough of that movie....if all anime was like that i'd be one of those costume convention nerds lol

I agree the animations are better, ever so slightly, but it's not something that sells the exclusives for me. On this topic, I found the animations in Fallout 3 very, very disappointing. It's crap.fellermooty

well that seems to be standard for bethesda games lol.....but there have actually gotten a bit better than some of their previous titles IMO

Well in all regards i still think that Assasins creed has the best friggen animations in the industry especially on the pc

What i have to say the first time i played uncharted the Lighting blew me away (In the beginning with the flashlight you see all the shadows move around it was pure bliss)

Then again Crysis trumps everything but its a meh game

I can only imagine how awesome the God of War 3 animations will be. Killzone 2 death animations are pretty insane, from what i've seen in the videos.WalterPaladines

I usually buy most PS3 exclusives.....and its really the main reason I bought my system.....but although I have never played it....I'm sure COD4 on the 360 animates pretty well....... some of the best running animations and good death animations.....Afrikanxl

i love the running animation in call of duty 4....very well done
