Sony admit FFXIII is not yet a exclusive

The latest in Square Enix's epic RPG series, Final Fantasy XIII, has not yet been secured as a PS3-exclusive.

Discussing game exclusivity, Vice president of SCE Europe, Georges Fornay, told French site dna.fr: "The development cost of games has exploded, so it has become difficult to have exclusiveness, except over our own games."

He goes on to reveal that exclusivity for Final Fantasy XIII is "under discussion", suggesting that the deal is still up for grabs. Might we see Square opt for a cross platform release? We've put forward the query and await a reply.

seriously, what's there to discuss? all microsoft has to do is slip money under the table and viola!.... FFXIII on the 360 

I hope it happens.

It's the only series that would still make me splash out for a ps3 at some point. I wanted GTA, Pro Evo and FF the most for any console, and i already have 2, or on the way to the 360. If FF comes to 360, there is little chance at all i'll end up getting a ps3.

let the cows say what they want, but the first test comes in oct? is it when gta simul releases and scores better on the 360 because of the controls, loading, and framerate. Lord knows the framerate and loading go to hell on the ps2 and ps3mtradr43

And another thing: Didn't SE say that FF13 is being developed in the "white engine" wich only works on the ps3's cell?

In the gamespot interview with sakaguchi he says he heard that they made white engine open platform...not exactly a confirmation but I wouldn't see it as impossible. you are late!! dont worry about it nomura and kojima favor the PS3.if sony give them decent money both game will be locked down...lemmings should jus enjoy their new ip games since they say its better.but they are more worry about ps3 games..lol..next thing you know they are tryin to get god of war and lost planet..lol..but that not goin to happen because its first party games..lol..lemming need to chill and stop wantin ps3 games..

Yeah, its a shame how many others skipped the game without trying it. Its a great game that should be appreciated as OoT and MM

Seems to me that that statement guarantees 360 owners a port of FFXIII if Sony doesn't secure the exclusivity.  They must be asking for a very high price from Sony if they still have to discuss it.

Agreed,Microsoft aren't going to let FF13 slip through there fingertips easily,it will be a crushing blow to ps3 owners as i can image at least half of the current ps3 owners bought a ps3 for this game in mind.

People said the same thing about Assassian's Creed, Virtua Fighter 5, Unreal Tournament 3, Mercenaries 2, and Devil May Cry 4 and look how that turned out.
