Sony admits it was a mistake not releasing Demon Souls themselvs

Sony admits today that it was a mistake on their part not releasing Demon Souls outside of Japan as a first pary title, a mistake they hope to never happen again, it surprised everyone on how the game turned out to be a huge success for Atlus, just recently they annouced them earing great profits because of releasing Demon Souls in USA and because of the huge demand the game will be releasing in Europe this year June 2010. guess will see Sony to take it this time when Demon Souls 2 is annouced

Thats true, now everyone wants it :P.. if im right Sony was focusing more on bringing White Knight Chronicles since its going to be a trilogy and missed Demon Souls.. i personally prefer WKC over Demon Souls :P but both great games indeed.. cant seem to kill that second boss yet on DS :evil:

I would love if they made a Demon's Souls 2. I don't see how it could be an actual sequel story-wise, but the gameplay of that game was awesome. I'd at least like a DLC that would make that wrecked archstone in the Nexus accessible. Ugh that was such a pain. I thought the entire game I had to do something to unlock it

I believe Atlus already acquired the rights to release it in Europe. Wasn't surprised the Sony dropped the ball on this one considering everyone thought it would suck when we saw the first trailers.

Atlus is one of the most useless publishers there are, they think europe doesn't even exist. They have a history of being jerks.

Well, it really helped Atlus a lot. It maybe a big loss for Sony, but a huge gain for Atlus.

Sony doesn't want to publish something because they think it won't be worth it, then see they were wrong and plan to jump on ship and get praise/acceptance.

EA doesn't want to publish an MMA game because they were proven failures time after time and people say they hope EA MMA fails because now they're just trying to capitalize on it's success. A few of you Sony fanboys also posted in that thread.

I guess Sony really can't do any wrong. I'm gonna feel bad for you guys next gen if Sony manages to overtake the Xbox. Their egos will get overblown again and then PS4! ONLY $1,000! and you'll all eat it up, because like they said. As long as it says PlayStation on it, there's at least 5 million people that would still buy it. They have nothing to lose, they have the most ignorant and narrow-minded fanbase.

why do companies do this? we had the whole fiasco with nintendo and animal crossing also and yet that went on to sell millions in europe alone. give it a go guys and if it doesnt sell then dont release the sequal in unsuccessful territories. but the game is made....the expense of shipping out a 100,000-200,000 copies is a trivial expense in the grand scheme of things. boggels the mind.osan0

I think you mean, thanks to all the people who imported! the game probably wouldn't have been localized if it weren't for the loads of people who imported from japan (myself included :]).

Their egos? You do know that Sony and Microsoft are companies and not individual people right? So they can't have egos...

And regarding "They have nothing to lose,they have the most ignorant and narrow-minded fanbase." - You shouldn't make fun of their fanbase. If you had a PS2 last gen, you'd know their fanbase has a reason to buy Sony products because of its name.

And regarding why Sony didn't publish Demon's Souls - every company makes mistakes. eg : Microsoft made a mistake in not buying Epic and Team Ninja.
