Sony and Microsoft first party?

Everybody rags on Nintendo for poor third party support (which is no longer true) and praises Microsoft and Sony for it. We all know Nintendo has the best first party games.

What about the other side? What are some good FIRST PARTY PS3 and 360 games and why can't they match Nintendo quality?

Youve got a very good point, but only one problem. Only 1 really amazing Nintendo games comes out once every 6 months.

I got SMG, then 4 months later SSBB, and I haven't gotten a Nintendo game since.

adn yeah, only 4 months, but it's ussueally 6 or more for me

WOW system wars is pretty weak...most topics are the same topics created acouple of months earlier and those ones are the same as the previous months. It has been proven and debated that

a) sony is better ( limited opinion)

or

b)very close to nintendo( general opinion)

Sony first party support is piss poor. They have a great 2nd party support like naughty dog and insomniac but other than Level 5 and the makers of ico and shadow of the colossus they got nothing.

Why does it matter if something is first party or third? As long as the games are good then I don't mind which it is.

But you answer your question: no, MS or Sony do no have many good 1st party titles, although have published and helped games like Halo, Forza, Fable, etc.
But they don't need to... the 3rd parties have it all covered.

WOW system wars is pretty weak...most topics are the same topics created acouple of months earlier and those ones are the same as the previous months. It has been proven and debated that

a) sony is better ( limited opinion)

or

b)very close to nintendo( general opinion)

I would say Sony's first party developers aren't doing particularly well at the moment, Microsoft first party developers on the other hand seem to be doing alright, Bungie used to be a first party dev right? And we all know what they bestowed upon the world. ONLYDOD

Yes, Bungie (Halo), Rare (Viva Pinata, ect) And Turn 10(Forza 2) are all (Bungie is now independent, but works exclusivly with microsoft) first party as when the games were released those companies were wholly owned by microsoft

ill give you boombox and trauma center though.... but how is that saying that the Wii´s poor third party support is no longer true, it still pales when compared to the 360, PS3, PC and the DS (not too sure how is the PSP´s third party)

on Topic: the PS3 has a lot of first party studios but frankly sometimes i feel like trained chimpanzee could do a better job at managing the studios, someone over at sony had the "brilliant" idea that sony could create a constant flow of dozens of games and firmware updates and the end result is games like killzone and home constantly being delayed or some other smaller first party games being cancelled

Microsoft never reall had much in terms of first party support but they have been able to manage it just right, they have been able to keep a steady flow of first party titles, however i think that they know that all these sony games are iminent and have decided to call in a PC only dev (ensemble) to help reinforce the 360, i wouldnt be suprised if by the end of this gen all of microsoft´s games studios had been working full time for the 360

It works like this

1st party support

Sony Nintendo > Microsoft

3rd party support

Microsoft > Sony Nintendo

Which leaves Microsoft in a bad spot if a 3rd party exclusive hits the PS3 or WII. IF a third party PS3 game hits the 360 who cares, the PS3 has WAY better 1 & 2nd party support then Microsoft.

What matters is that the strength of the first party decides how your console does in times of hardship.

See N64, GC for how to profit and do well in lean times, and Saturn, Dreamcast for how to close up shop in lean times.
