Sony Announces Early 2008 Line-Up

Make no mistakes about it, Sony is not joking around when it comes down to first party releases. Having come off a solid holiday line up, including blockbusters like Uncharted, Warhawk, and Ratchet and Clank, SCEA has wasted no time in announcing a their early 2008 offerings.

The great news here is that they've made MLB 08: The Show official, as you may have read in Ben's piece. This is great news because this year's MLB 07 was a fantastic game, but MLB 08 looks to improve in virtually every facet, with a visual overhaul to boot. Moreover, we're finally getting a WipeOut HD release date: early next year it is, which usually indicates a period between January and February.

Of course, for those pining for the smell of burnt rubber, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will arrive within the first quarter of 2008 (we predict March). To top things off, the PSP's God of War: Chains of Olympus will also hit in March, so keep an eye out for that.

Too Human looks awful. Just my opinion. However, I don't think they're supposed to "compete" with those titles. These are just early '08 titles for PS3. Looks good to me. MGS4, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Tekken 6, Gran Turismo 5, etc... will compete with your "big" 360 titles.

Qoutedon that Too Human looks awful, Just because it looked awful over a year ago doesn't mean it is any more. Besides, SK is one of the best devs around, Have Faith my friend.

Those are third party titles the games I listed are first and second party titles. Now tell me what studios that M$ has left that make any worthwhile titles? Fable 2? :lol:

The October'07 hands-on previews of Too Human all say it looks/plays amazing so I'm assuming your clinging on to it's poor showing at E3'06 :lol:

Also, when listing big games for the ps3...I suggest leaving out GT5.

Demos do not compete with anything :lol:

It took Sony 18 months to release GT4 after GT4-Prologue...so no GT5 for you this year :)

Turn 10 (Forza)

Ensemble (AoE / Halo Wars)

Rare (Banjo Kazooie)

Wingnut Interactive (new studio co-owned by Peter Jackson)

I'd also like to point out that the last games made by Lionhead / Rare / Turn 10 all outscored all but one 1st party ps3 game released to date :)

MSG is also publishing exclusively for Bungie at this time.

Actually, are you sure, did they ACTUALLY come out and say this is early 2008 line up ?????? I mean are they crazy ? This is definatly the worst advertisement they could ever do, it is better to let people oblivious on such a lineup, until some real games come IMO

This is only the first party titles. There will be plenty of third party efforts like Haze in Jan. and Devil May Cry 4 in Feb.

Just wondering what are the 360's fist party devs currently because i know bungie and the team behind project gotham racing have recently became 3rd party?

And i think that list of ps3 releases only encorparates the first 2 months of next year.

Not really much. I was really hoping for LBP to come out earlier.

You don't know much about the PS3 line-up do you? This is the early 2008 lineup, which doesn't represent the entire lineup and those two games you just mentioned on the 360 don't even have release date other than that it's coming out in 2008.
