Well... It's a shitshow and non-verifiable. Not sure a thread was needed.

Would seem a massive waste of money for them IMO. They'd better of licensing games, or paying Kojima to make spiritual successors to say Silent Hill or Metal Gear Solid. Not that I feel this way but pretty sure just signing Kojima up to make exclusives for Sony would be just as valuable to generate hype for them then getting any Konami IPs just to have someone else make them.

Anyhow, not like it's happening anyways but I wouldn't see the value of doing it. Most Sony's strategic game investments seem either tailored toward strengthening their online portfolio and/or getting their games ported over to PC.

Just buy Kojima Productions. IP's are not needed. Talent is what's needed, and there's none left at Konami.

That update is from April 1st, sounds like nothing but April fools to me.

Konami can probably license them out to PlayStation but Sony would have to find external devs to work on them since their in-house devs are all busy with their own projects.

I am quite surprised that Apirl Fools Day was not observed this year, even by GameSpot. I wonder why.

Cows can say whatever they want, like they are against acquisitions (only now because of MS) even though Sony First Party is mostly built off acquisitions. However deep down they wish and hope Sony acquires a publisher. They are both afraid of MS's and envy at the same time, no matter what they say. They are the biggest hypocrites and will cheer once Sony does something similar. The only problem is Sony doesn't have the cash like MS.

It's April fools Day every day at Sony, I'm sure the 70 dollar game price was announced on April the first,ps shitty gamepass version surely was.

If you are not able to give an answer to my question, I recommend you not to be toxic, because all the Microsoft fans are responding "so, it's OK when Sony does it, eh?" without even thinking if the person ever said anything that warranted that response. But it's a free country, right? you are free to have a wrong thought if you wish :).

And to answer your question, It's not right or wrong, it's just business between companies, they are not necessarily guided by what consumers want. After a couple of years, this whole takeover thing is going to be forgotten. How many video-game companies do you think disappeared or merged and we have no idea or we don't remember/we don't care anymore?

I hate to say it but Kojima sniffs his own farts at this point. He is nothing without the MGS IP. I would only want Kojima if they bought the IP's.

MS had to buy publishers in an attempt to make it competitive. As much as haters think Sony is broke they still have about 20 billion to drop on acquisitions.

This is done through legislation (which is unlikely), but if you do not like console makers buying out publishers, stop supporting them and tell your gamer friends to do the same.

Welp Suikoden IP is very dead if Sony buys them I mean at least Konami bothered to update their pachinko machines with their IPs but Sony, when was the last time they invested in their 1st party jrpg?

Mark Cerny and kojima working together on a game would be the best game ever.

We all complained about both of them buying third party. no one wants to see third party multiplatform games become exclusives. but its going to happen if we like it not. now its just which ones they buy that makes us happy. I think konami is a good fit at sony because they make mostly single player games like castlevania.
