I'm 27, in my years of understanding business I don't think I've seen a segment of a company get battered so much. Especially after such a positive history in the gaming segment of the company.

I'm not gonna say it's going to fail, but they're following the same dangerous path the PS3 did: an excess of expensive hardware, followed by not-so-great software (it took Sony a couple of years to have quality titles come to their console) and a high price-tag which most gamers would rather ignore. But those are just my two cents.

They make great products then don't advertise them. That is there one biggest flaw this entire generation. IMO PS3 crushes the 360 in everyway. But no one know about it because if you go to a site or watch TV all you see is Xbox ads.

sony every year are closesing the gap it's only 3 million behind and it still in it 4th year of it 10 years life

at the end of thise gen ps3 will overtake the 360

killzone 3 got 85%

gt5 got 85%

and those games are only smal part of a larger exclusives coming thise year

and that's only 2011

Same with Xbox last gen, easily the superior console but the presence of the PS2 and the support for the PS2 almost made the Xbox insignificant (even though it was my fave console last gen).

TC most of what you cite has been caused by Sony's own hand.

3rd in console sales.....Introducing a console at $600 even though pretty much everyone told then it was too much. Refusal to drop the price even when software companies threatened to withhold games from the system, etc. Sony came into this generation thinking that because they led the last gen, people would just bend over backwards to pay $600 for a PS3.

Injunction.....Sony starts messing with LG because of patents, and when LG turns around and slaps Sony back with a little taste of their own medicine, we should feel sorry for Sony?

Hackers...both other systems have had hackers for years, and Sony pretty much dared someone to hack the PS3 by constantly bragging how it was un-hackable.

I like Sony, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for them sometimes. Especially when they cause their own pain.

The temporary injunction won by LG is just that, temporary. It's only for 10 days. Still, it does suck.

LG and Sony have been doing this for a while. Sony going after LG phones, LG going for BluRay playback tech. Typical business day.TheMoreYouOwn

1. The xbox has been beating the ps3 every month in terms of sales for awhile according to ngp.

2. Games dont meet expectation like gt 5 and kz3, and then sony doesnt advertise them, so games dont sell that much.

3. I would say Europe is a pretty big place, that will cut a lot out of ps3's sales.

4. From a person who owns both consoles I can say there are ALOT more hackers on the ps3, especially CoD. Its horrible, I cant even play cod 4 on the ps3 anymore becuz of it.

yep that's why the PS3 got the first AAAAE with MGS4 and got the superior version of Dead Space 2. Oh and LBP 2 got AAAE. Plus before i forget KZ3....AAE :P

in terms of sales its outselling the 360 worldwide and rapidly catching up to it in terms of total units sold.

The shipments are blocked only for a week and hackers....are hackers lol. Nobody made a big deal about the 360 and Wii getting hacked and let me tell you the hacking on those consoles are FAAARRRR worse I should know i have a hacked wii and my roomate has a hacked 360
