Sony Confirms 145 PS3 Games For US Before March

Sony has promised PlayStation 3 owners that at least 145 titles are on the way to the US, which includes approximately 40 PSN titles and more than 105 boxed games.

The clarification follows Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai's recent statement promising 380 titles within the fiscal year ending March 2008.

According to an SCEA spokesman, Hirai was citing international figures.

The number of first-party titles announced for fiscal 2007 stands at 15, including Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, LAIR, Little Big Planet, Eye of Judgment, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Third-party titles currently scheduled for fiscal 2007 include Coded Arms: Assault, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Sony cant even confirm what they are doing from week to week, do they really expect the world to believe their hype?!?!? This may have the Sony fanboys drooling, but since Im in the Show-me-state (Missouri), I wont believe it till I see it (in playable action, not screenshots!!!!).

I guess those might be considered stupidity over outright lies but really who cares they were statements not thought out very well in any case.

There is no way I will let the mistakes of the upper management keep me from eventually picking up a PS3 when I want the games so much but for me to just blindly believe anything they say would just be crazy.

Sony also was (and possibly still is) oblivious to the fact that the PS3 wasn't selling very well. With devs flocking to the 360 and Wii, I find this hard to believe.MrDziekuje

It would have been nice if the article actually provided the list of 40 downloadables and 105 boxed games.

how is it bs? did you even do the math?? on average that is only 9 games a month. there are over 40 games scheduled to come out between october and november alone... about 20 games per month,you know two of the most busiest months of the year. in december i exspect the same about 20 or so games to come.. stop grasping lemmings.

Sony can't confirm what they did a month ago.

I still am not convinced. They might pull it off, it's not impossible. I just keep wondering how will they manage to do it. Won't be good for the publishers and won't be good for the developers if they oversaturate the market.

I counted 80, and i think that list also included "collector's editions" of the games already mentioned in the list. Pplus i saw warhawk which i believe is downloadable and wont be sold in stores. But i am guessing that the thirty or so other games will be announced at E3

i think you stopped at dec.. warhawk is coming in boxed version as it is confirmed to ship with a blu tooth headset. the announcement was forreleases from now until march 2008. i counted 90+ games.. there will be more games announced at e3 and of course for the first 3 months of the year alot of games have not been announced yet so yeah this list will go up.
