The starting price was 300$ (what it was worth to start anyway), had a few good AAAE games, had a user-friendly online system similar to live, rumble, HDMI cable come standard ( some "next game" console without a "next gen" cable), and finally if they would folow through on all their promises, PS3 may have been DECENT.....

If the PS3 was like that I could have seen myself possibly buting one when they were released. . . then yet again, the 360 would still be a better system. But I think your assumptions are right.

Im assuming the TC is referring to sales. Which the 360 isnt leading in. So what can they do to gain market share, if theyre already the best at everything?

-no gen defining games apart from halo (first year of ps2 had FFX, GTA3, and THPS3) aka casual games
-slow to react to hardware problems

Actually, it's the lack of appeal that's killing it. Nothing wrong with the 360, it's great. It's just that it appeals to a very narrow demographic and MS can't seem to break that.
The TC is the worst type of fanboy there is!!! the ones that dont even think or no there fanboys and try do it on the sly, even if the ps3 had a stellar libary it would still suck to him or like he said be "decent" and yet he would recomend anyone a 360 even though it has a big failure rate.
So in your original post by saying that the PS3, which is already the least expensive Blu-Ray player on the market at $400, is only worth $300? Mind you it does all the same things as the 360 with a HD dvd format player pre-installed, something that the 360 doesn't have.

Sony could've been successful, if the price was cheaper, backward compatibility for the 40 gig, and if they had some good games for it. Folklore wasn't that good, heavenly sword can be beaten in 5 hours, motorstorm had no multiplayer and reletively short. The only exceptions are rachet and clank, Warhawk, resistance, and drake's fortune. Only 4 good games out in a year, that's a pretty bad list to me.

In some people's eyes, it is not "wasting $400". The PS3 is currently one of the cheapest blu-ray players available, plus tack-on a few great games and free online, and you have got yourself a system that is worthy of $400. Also, having patience is not necessarily a bad thing. Many people would rather wait a little while and be able to buy the best games than to rush out right now and frivolously spend $350 just because they can't wait to play a game. I can understand you not wanting a PS3, but to try to discourage other people to buy one just because of your distaste for Sony is poor sportsmanship. Remember, Sony is competing with Microsoft, and in business, competition is good and beneficial at keeping costs for the systems and their add-ons down.

Yeah, it's weird. My ex who was a Sony fangirl last gen was great at most PS2 games but when it came to playing Halo on my Xbox she just couldn't pull through as a good player to play co-op with. Same thing with my younger sister, she was great at SSBM on GC but when it came to DoA3 she just couldn't get into it enough to be a decent person to play against.
