Thanx for this waste of time thread. :)
Nowhere in that article does it say the Playstation 3 is not compatible. TekkenMaster606
if you had any idea of the drive specs of the ps3 you would know it reads bd- media only

thanks for making 360 fans look bad. no where in the article does it state that the ps3 can't play these discs. in fact, it appears to say that all blu-ray players will be able to play these....so thanks.

This isn't a media change, it a copy protection (ie software) change.Â

Which is exactly what updates are for. I mean, do you fanboys really think they're going to release BluRay movies that the Playstation 3 won't play?
Â
:lol:Â
As much as I'd like to laugh at Sony, they would have to be completely brain dead to come out with a format that is incompatible with PS3.
Don't believe it.
bu bu teh denial!11apolloluke

Yep there's soooooooo much denial  (Notice that Eddie5vs1 is a lemming)
i think thats software related, it didnt see any relations to any hardware related work.Solid-CELL

Just people grasping for straws. Â
Actually in that acticle they dont mention ps3 at all. Or weither the discs will work on all current players or not, so the OP and then the repliers are wrong.
2nd so much for blu rays being superior to hd dvd, they have having the same DRM problems and they are not implimenting more.....LOL good luck backing up your movies and games...

Yes, that does indeed crack their image.I dont get it, I believe I have read some where that you own a PS3, so why would you get all excited about owning cows on this one when in fact you would be getting owned as well?
Â
The problem is not for the PS3, but for current BD players. HDDVD added an ethernet port for firmware upgrades, which you can't do with current BD players. As much as I'd like to laugh at Sony, they would have to be completely brain dead to come out with a format that is incompatible with PS3.
