Thats what they seem to think . I mean they have almost 19 studios and a couple of dozen of IP . M$ and nintendo should take note and slowly start expanding.

PS: I've read this interview that they think in the future all games will be multiplat since they cost too much to make.

Clap Hanz I am sure is working on Hot Shots games and DLC

Polyphony Digital is working on GT5.

SCE Japan is working on Loco Roco 2 and Patapon 2

Team ICO is working on an unannounced game

Incognito is working on Twisted Metal and Warhawk DLC

Naughty Dog is working on a new Uncharted game IIRC.

Sony Bend is working on Resistance PSP

SCE San Diego is working on the '09 sports games

SCE Santa Monica is working on GoW3

Sony Online Entertainment is working on The Agency

Bigbig Studios is working on Pursuit Force Series

Zipper Studios is working on MAG

Evolution is working on MotorStorm 2

Gurilla Games is working on Killzone 2

SCE London is working on Home and SingStar

SCE Liverpool is working on WipEout HD and a new, full WipEout PS3 game

SCE Korea is making EyeToy games.

Two studios don't have publicly announced projects in works, AFAIK.

honestly if you think about it . if sony actually cared for 3rd part exclusives it would secure them, but they just don't care. there is so many 1st and 2nd party games coming out that it just doesn't matter. and losing a 3rd party game simply means that its going to be ALSO on another console its still comming to the ps3 so why waste time and money would you could be using those resourses on the 19 studios that sony owns. new ip's are more welcome i say.

Interesting point, if it was gonna cost them a gazillion dollars to save FFXIII then it would be more effective to use that money to make new games. Very nice, never thought of it like that, or at least never consciously thought it out. :P

360 owners? Potential PS3 buyers? They'd certainly care about which games are exclusive and which games aren't.

I think sony needs some more first party and second party Japanese studios,so they can pump out games like DMC,FF,SH ( even though Siren looks pretty interesting ) RE and MGS.

I don't know.

Here, anyone who has issues with facts I post, here is a link...

http://www.google.com/

You can find the answer to almost anything you could imaging in that link.

Google Sony Computer Entertainment for your list of studios. Go to their websites or google their names for what they are up to. Not brain surgery.

After 13 thousand and some odd posts of being as honest and unbiased as I can be, with the posting history to back that up, I am just going to randomly invent dev houses and their projects? Come on.

Fact check some level 1 fanboy. I am not trying to be a Sony PR rep.

don't need it - u can't possibly think that those studio's are idle right? they're working on either this or that

1st party games from Sony have always look like high quality stuff.

plus all those "used-to-be exclusives" that were snatched away by M$ are developed for PS3 first and foremost - I don't really care if they go multi since it'll look good on PS3 all the same

I can't believe that the threadstarter says Nintendo needs to expand their first party.

Their first party alone propelled them to the head of the pack, and is whats keeping them there.

Sony's first party can't even get them to second, much less first.

Quality over quantity my friend.

He gave you a legitimate way to check his facts. That's all he needs

And anybody with the smallest amount of gamer knowledge can just look at the list and recognize some of the projects. What does he have to lie to you for? Not everybody in System Wars are liars, there are some very intelligent gamers in here among the fanboy idiots. Spuce is one of them. Cut him some slack.

Ipik_Fenris

Every game being multiplatform will never happen. Developers love money for one thing, but they love to develop games as close to their vision as possible too. As long as their are differences in power and control among other things, there will be exclusives.

you see sony using just its own devs have mustered up a huge lineup.

Sony have been very clever in the past gens to build up these studios, they should buy konami too for MGS games.

MS relys too much on 3rd oarty exclusives an whuilst they have the money to do so for now, soon enough it will be more financially appealing to go multiplat.

I can't believe that the threadstarter says Nintendo needs to expand their first party.

Their first party alone propelled them to the head of the pack, and is whats keeping them there.

Sony's first party can't even get them to second, much less first.

Quality over quantity my friend.

WEll still ...I'm mostly talking about microsoft tho . They oficially only own Rare and Lionhead that develop on the 360 ( actually the guys making age of empires are developing on the 360). Thank God they are publishing a bunch of games .

NinjaMunkey01

Any proof to back that up ?

You do realize that nearly ALL of those projects have been announced, right?

Seriously, do you want him to link each of those to a Gamespot information page?

you see sony using just its own devs have mustered up a huge lineup.

Sony have been very clever in the past gens to build up these studios, they should buy konami too for MGS games.

MS relys too much on 3rd oarty exclusives an whuilst they have the money to do so for now, soon enough it will be more financially appealing to go multiplat.

Konami's a pretty huge company that designs only a portion of their games for Sony's platforms. They'd have ot pay an enormous price :|

Most of their first parties are top notch, and if they managed to release a large title or two earlier in the gen (instead of as late as 2010 -- GT5), I'd agree that they don't need as much third party support as M$. It's a similar system with Ninty, the coveted titles are first party... And if your theory is correct, if there will no longer be third party multi-plats, then next generation could very well be hell for M$, considering most of their megaton titles are third party (and Sony/Ninty's megatons will always be exclusive, as they're first party).

Ummm....wtf are you talking about?

Megatonwise, Sony only has Gran Turismo.

Successful but not uber hit, they have Jak, GOW, and Ico/SOTC line.

Megahit franchises that made Playstation the place to be? DMC, FF, GTA, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, MGS and a great number that slip my mind.

Playstation was built on the back of third party.

It's not like a Nintendo console, where the first party always has the best sales.

You bought a playstation because it got the most exclusives, and the occasional internal must have was merely an unexpected bonus. You then bought a Nintendo console for the first party titles.

That's how it was the past two gens, and Microsoft playing Sony's game is what's thrown the Big S off their feet bigtime.

I really don't think Sony or MS have too much of a choice. 3rd party devs have proven that you cannot trust them w/o some sort of contract. Besides, i like to see new franchises more then the same old reahashes anyway. Sony already has made a foray into 1st party territory, now MS needs to step up to the plate. ;)
