[QUOTE="TheJustin"][QUOTE="mahjustin"]Althought other stores like Futureshop and Bestbuy have increased their prices of the PS3 from $659.99 to $699.99 a long time ago, it was just recently (March 4th, 2007) that Sony decided to raise the price of the PS3 to match everyone else in Canada.

You can see from this page that Sony****has made the price change on the 4th.
... and I was going to use the Sony****website to force Futureshop and Bestbuy to price beat it too... dammit.

this may be a stupid question, but can someone explain to me why they would just up and increase the price? It doesn't make sence to me because wouldn't that lower their sales? Sony says it because of the USD -> CDN exchange rate but its complete BS. At 699.99 (CDN) we are paying $50 (USD) more than our American counterpart. Its even worse for Europeans.
What are you talking about? What's B.S.?
We're not paying more then the Americans it's called the exchange rate.
As of right now the exchange rate is at $1.153 which is about $691.79 to be exact in canadian dollars and since the market flucuates all the time how is this B.S. The europeans dollar is worth more and they are paying more for I have no clue why but we aren't paying more here beyond the exchange rate
