Sony first party vs Nintendo first party

To clarify, im not talking about who sells the most , just the amount of quality coming from their first party developers.

Microsoft. I'll take Halo, Forza and Gears over anything from them.JohnnyCageMK

Sony games that I highly enjoyed - KZ3, Uncharted 1 and 2, six GoW games, Ratchet and Clank ToD and currently CiT

Nintendo - Many Pokemon games, SMG1, 2, 64, Smash Bros., MK Wii, etc...

You know what, I'll just say straight up tie. I was going to give it to Sony, but they have nothing on Pokemon for me and their multiplayer is extremely limited as compared to Nintendo's games.

Well, I have taste so I'll go with Sony.

Nintendo, easily.

Sony made a big come up this gen with their 1st party, but they're still 2nd rate. Production values be damned, they still just don't deliver Nintendo quality gameplay and with Team Ico on the way out (as it seems) they're losing one of their most talented teams.

Nintendo has games dating as far back as the SNES that trump Sonys best efforts this gen. Nintendo has quantity and nearly unmatched quality.

Just to make myself clear, Sony does have some GREAT 1st party stuff, but they're not on Nintendos level at all.

Nintendo's for sure. While Sony produces a couple pretty good games every generation, Nintendo always produces many of the highest quality games every generation. They have the best first party developers in the industry easily. Here's my break down of the current gen

Sony (PS3)

-inFAMOUS 2= 9.0

-inFAMOUS= 9.0

-Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time= 8.5

-LittleBigPlanet 2= 8.0

-Modnation Racers= 8.0

-God of War III= 7.0

-Uncharted 2= 6.0

Nintendo (Wii)

-The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword= 9.5

-Super Mario Galaxy 2= 9.5

-New Super Mario Bros. Wii = 9.0

-Punch-Out!!= 9.0

-Metroid Prime 3 Corruption= 9.0

-Sin and Punishment Star Successor= 9.0

-Donkey Kong Country Returns= 8.5

-Super Smash Bros. Brawl= 8.5

-etc. etc. etc.

Nintendo the company that saved the industry after the crash.

Yep. Its been a long time since Nintendo has been my favorite console maker (SNES), but even so, at the end of every gen I can always count at least 5 Nintendo games in my top ten for the gen.

Gran Turismo is falling behind the curve as a GAME (still great on the track) and its releases are too far spread. Team Ico's future doesnt look too bright. Most of Sonys other first party games are just cheap knock offs of other successful titles, or just average games in general.

Nintendo takes this one by default. Sony makes decent games. Nintendo consistently makes some of the best games around and has been doing so for ages.

Its a no brainer.

I like Sony more for their continuous new IP's from generation to generation, but Nintendo definitely has a better grasp on their new IP's. It's also impressive how they manage to keep them fresh every iteration.

Well of course! The Trials games have some sick gameplay. Addictive, challenging and very well thought out. LBP is just a floaty mess.

Yeah, its solid. One of the better first party lineups in gaming tbh, but as you said its just not quite Nintendo.

So why would the other factions jump to Nintendo on this? Lems and Cows love to gang up on Sheep. Its one of those few things they can put their differences aside for. Pure hermits seem to view all consolites in the same light. I just don't see your reasoning.

I don't think this poll is unfair. In fact, I think the poll is a bit skewed as there is no way in hell Sony should be getting this many votes.

Sony attempts to mimic the success of other franchises, and makes subpar experiences.

They're also far too focused on the generic shooter market, and the cinematic action blockbuster market. Both cater too much to the type of gamer who may game once every so often on a boring weekend which is when those types of games are alright since you play them once, and then you're done.

Like someone here already stated:

Overall = Ninty, hands down.

This gen = Sony

The reason why I stated this is because Sony have had a MUCH better success with new IP's this gen than Ninty has had.

Sony has good first party titles but its easily Nintendo from me..THere is something about their first party that gets a hold of me.

This one is hard. I love the Mario, Zelda, and SSB games. But I also like that a lot of Sony's companies change what they do each generation. Some of my favorite games have been games by Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, and Guerrilla games. Plus some of the quirky PSN titles are pretty fun too.

Last generation, Sony by far, this generation? Sony would win by a long shot if there wasn't SMG.
