Sony forecasts 14.5 million PS3 to have been sold by the end of March 2008. So far Sony is saying they have sold about 4.5 mil consoles world wide. They predict another 10 mil in the next 8 months?!!! Granted with some holiday titles coming out and MGS, I do not forsee the PS3 selling 10 mil consoles in 8 months. On avg they have sold based upon their figures roughly 500,000 consoles a monthworld wide thru June. By their predictions that over 1 million consoles world wide from July-March. I just don't see this happening.

sony could have said they would sell a 100 million in 12 months, the cows would eat it up and run with it

honestly sony can forecast all they want, they'll be in 3rd place the rest of this gen, too little too late

I'm guessing by sold they mean sold to retailers. And if that's the case didn't Sony say that they had shipped 5.5 million already a few weeks ago. So it could indeed involve channel stuffing if you want the worst case scenario. Or it could just mean the PS3 sells well enough to get 14.5 million on to the shelves. I don't really know.

Agreed, but i would put them at 2nd if you consider actual nex gen systems. But once again Sony gives us information which will more than likely be B.S. Its not like they have lied about #'s before.

You think Sony made these numbers up for fun? Maybe they just wanted the Cows on gamespot to feel better about the PS3 right? Who cares if these numbers are way off, it's not like they would stand to lose tons of money and upset shareholders by rigging their estimates. I think people should take your word over Sony's because you're the one with all the information.

the numbers they made didint just came out right theire a**

they base it thru sales and demand.

PS3 is still on its first year and we all know its getting better. Looks like Sony doesnt care about wat happens in the first, they are about long term and a success in the long run.
