Sony game reportedly leaks; Gears of War killer?

Footage claiming to be from an unannounced PlayStation shooter has emerged online.

The brief footage shows a character walking towards a balcony while a large creature climbs the side of a building.

It’s claimed that the footage is from a sci-fi third-person shooter that is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

Notable leaker DuskGolem has claimed that they have seen “a lot more of the game,” and that the footage is from an older build.

It’s claimed the game is being worked on through XDEV with an unknown external studio.

There are few details on the game, but it’s known that Sonyis looking to create more live-service games, so this title could be part of that strategic realignment.

If the leak proves to be real, it would mark the latest in a run of Sony leaks including the Returnal PC port.

Guerrilla Games’ multiplayer project, which it recently confirmed, was also outed months before it was confirmed. Guerrilla has long planned to expand Horizon into multiplayer, VGC understands.

I love that we're already throwing around, "gears of War killer"... Lol how unfair to that game.... 5 seconds of quick footage and the hype train has already exceeded madness.

Why would you need that? Have you seen Gears5 sales? Have you seen how quickly the online died? Have you seen how garbage the campaign and story was? This series is equally as lost as the Halo franchise, but at least it doesn't look fugly. There's a reason why we don't hear anything about Gears anymore. The series is done. Nothing left to kill, the talentless devs at microsoft killed it.

What is there left to kill? Gears ain't exactly hot anymore. This isn't 2008.

Unfortunately. It was a great series but man it’s the exact same game as the first one in 2007.

Sony already did that back in 2015, it's called The Order: 1886 which was label as Gear of War killer.

As few have already said, Gears stop being awesome when Gears of War 4 came out and Gears 5 was meh at best. One thing I like about Gears 5 is playing the Hivebusters which felt like an actual Gears of War before it went crazy with the Locus. This series is already dead so not sure why Sony needs to compete with Gears.

It seems that anytime a game is labelled as a “game X killer” things never seem to turn out well for that game. 😅

Anyway will keep an eye on it and just hope it turns out to be a good game. 🤷‍♂️

Sad for who? The game is on game pass and is launched off the XBOX app and is also available on XBOX Series X - and it looks 90% better than most games released today. Whenever I play, I never have problems joining a balanced game even after several years of being released.

Whenever I hear Sony has a killer for Halo or Gears of War I silently laugh. They are two competitive Microsoft exclusives that have thriving tournament communities and lifespan.

I don't know or care what game you are playing that makes you feel so cool for having numbers, but I don't play games based off trends or what people think is hot. People think Fortnite is hot and I've never played it once and don't give a dusty **** about the people that do.

Nearly all of Sony's "exclusives" are the same exact thing. Play a photo mode game with personality or life by yourself. Microsoft offers a little bit of everything, has an incredible ecosystem, incredible backwards compatibility, incredible features that single-handedly destroy PS5 and what looks to be an absolute stellar 2023 for XBOX not Sony.

Unless you like barricaded games like FFVII and FF16 (which will be on PC with better graphis after six months).

Is the game even in the top 100 most played on the box? Yea, its dead, dude. No reason to find excuses for this franchise. From day one this game got bombarded for having a shitty story and trash pvp. Nobody is playing it because its a bad game.

The only thing I didn't like about Gears 5 was the open world levels, they were empty and felt like they were there to pad time. Uncharted 4 suffered from the same thing but no one ever game that game criticism for it. I liked the use of Jack's abilities it felt like playing a third person cover shooter version of Crysis, my only complaint about it is that by the time you get all the abilities the game ends so you don't get to experiment with the different combinations of abilities in multiple scenarios, it would have been better if you got all the abilities at the start of the game or at least halfway through it.

The story was meh, they need to get the people that write the Gears Of War comics to write the new trilogy. They also lack the dark gritty borderline horror aspect. You fight robots for at least half the game in both Gears 4 and 5, they don't get bloody and lack the brutality of the Locust. Crowbcat videos show how the new Gears games lack blood and gore compared to the old ones. Seeing stuff like a big tough guy like Tai being mentally broken by the Locust to the point he commits suicide the first chance he gets to Dom finding his wife has been brutally tortured and to the point she is brain dead is the type of messed up heart breaking things you'll only see in the original Gears trilogy. Meanwhile Microsoft pats themselves on the back for not having cigarettes in a video game series where you chainsaw enemies and stomp their brains out.

Certainly not for everyone, but the multiplayer was massive, and i used to sweat the shit outta that game back in the day. Great memories😭
