Sony gets NO LUV with madden anymore. Once a proud Sony title. NOT ANYMORE!!!

If you notice all the Madden 08 commercials all are profiling Xbox 360 you don't even see Sony or PS3 logo or anything. I mean it's been like this for a few years now. And they were showing a Madden Challenge Marathon on ESPN yesterday. And it's all 360 and Xbox.

I mean this is a big deal Madden is one of the hugest casual sellers there is. And when you see it always profiled on MS systems now. Well go figure most are buying it on 360.

I would assume that most people who have the option between the two versions will get it for the 360. Though, I can't say there is going to be a huge difference either way.musicalmac

I know it's probably just that the developers were lazy and made the game for the 360 as the lead platform, and then just ported it to the PS3, but what does that say? Is this what PS3 owners have to look forward to for the next few years? And it's not like this is the first time this has happened...

I don't play Madden so I couldn't really care less.

Interesting to note, here is what a casual PS3 owner I know had to say in defense of it:

OK. What is the point? If frames per second is all you have to prove that the 360 version is better, then that's not much to go on. You have to realize that I have been playing the PS2 Madden & NCAA games since 2000 and PS1 before that. Stepping up to PS3 running at 30 fps...not a big deal. If I had been playing the Madden on 360 then no I couldnt go back to 30 fps, but how can I miss something that I never had. I have been playing NCAA for about a month now. Slowdown? Where? Stuttering? I haven't experenced it yet. Personally, I don't care about FPS.I'm not a lame tech nerd that cares about technical specifics like fps. As long as Madden cranks up and I can lay a hit stick on somebody I'm happy.a friend

I wonder if this in anyway related to Peter Moore and the EA Pres switching jobs. The 360 version is getting a lot of love from the media (for being 60 fps) and the PS3 version isn't, as you said, even shown. Heck, if I just went by commercials I might wonder if there was going to be a PS3 version.

you'd be right sure. 60 frames over 30 is a big difference in a football game. And no one has said either version has inferior gameplay to the other so that's really a non-issue. Both games will have equal gameplay; but one will go over the top by being the better looking version. Sux for people that only own a PS3 :(

There is a difference though. The 360 is puhing twice as many FPS as the PS3.

That is probably how GTAIV is going to be with 360 when it advertises. I think MS likes to pay for ads more than the other companies. Seriously, "we would like to play"? PS3 ads are ok though, but they are scarse.

I have a feeling MS and EA came to some kind of agreement. I wouldn't run it by MS to have paid for the better framerate. It just doesn't make sense for EA to focus on such a small part of the market without a reason to do so. Regardless of the best version, Madden stands to sell alot more copies on a Sony platform. I wonder if MS didn't pay for advertising in exchange for a slight upgrade over the PS3 version. They seemed to love the idea of having the big three all releasing on their system. They only had one problem and that was the PS2 was resposible for alot of the sales that made those games the big three. Why not offer something like free advertisement so they can claim to have the best version.

It may not hurt neither that the XBox seems to be a sponsor of the NFL.

Well it's been several years now that Xbox has been the madden system of choice. I mean they were doing Madden nation on Xbox 1 also.

Your theory of EA focusing on such a small portion makes perfect sense, except for the fact that the 360 has the largest intall base of all next gen consoles, so it makes sense that they would focus on that platform instead of the PS3. So they have a damnedgood reason to focus on the 360 version instead of the PS3.

MS= 10 million units.

Why would EA want to make people think the best version of their game is only available on the XBox again?
