Flawed logic FTW!Vis-a-Vis
I agree, but he does bring up another point. I do believe PS3 is going to have better MMOs than X360 in the future. I personally agree with Jared2720 also. PSN does everything I need it to do for free and Home looks to trump Live.
In my opinion, it already does. All I care about is playing games online without any lag. PSN allows me to do this free of charge. Xbox Live may have all the fancy bells and whistles, but it definitely isn't worth $50. Not to me, anyway.Jared2720
umm, no it doesn't. Not all games on ps3 have dedicated servers and not all games on 360 use p2p. For example, try playing Rainbow six vegas on ps3 that game has horendous lag and EA sports games on 360 use dedicated servers.
[QUOTE="user_nat"]You make a few posts don't you..
So when will Sony bring out its web browser that will crush Microsofts 80% market share there?
Jared2720
What? The 360 has a web browser? I didn't know that.
I didn't say it did.. he just said that sony crushed Microsoft online.. MS has a browser in its OS and Sony has one in the PSP and PS3. IE hasn't been crushed.

I've played many PS3 games online and haven't experienced any lag whatsoever. How do you account for this? As I said... free of charge. Seems like a good deal to me. *shrug*

Actually, he said Xbox Live. As far as I know, Xbox Live can only be used with an Xbox. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know.

Your right. If only I had a PS3 could I browse the internet. I am stuck with my Xbox live that can't do internet explorer, poor me.

Actually you are wrong. Halo 2 and GeoW on PC use some form of Xbox live if my memory serves.

He also listed PC games, as the premise why Sony would crush MS on the console!

The title says "Sony has a history of crushing Microsoft when it comes to online". All I was saying it most definently has not crushed it in everything to do with the internet. Even though I realise web browsers have very little to do with gaming. I wasn't talking about xbox live or PSN at all.. which I guess I should be.
. Xbox live is on another planet than PSN and its worth every red cent.

yes xbl is much better than psn. but are you telling me that its worth it, when you can go to your pc and play many of the same games for free? ok forget about "the same games" or any of the port nonsense: do you actualy think that xbl offers a better experience, than say, counter strike or battlefield 2 for playing online? because thats all your paying for: online. silver offers everything besides online. so we can narrow it down to this: are you willing to pay 50 for what you could get for free on a pc? or ps3 for that matter?

valid points... but when I weigh my bigscreen tv, roaring fireplace and my comfy chair and full surround sound next to my PC's little monitor and office chair its worth it... also, I love the gamertag, achievment, ease of voice chat and buddy list set up of live...

also valid points, but i must point out that at least my tv accepts output from my computer...can you imagine crysis on a 42 inch tv...ahhh too bad i run a hunk of scrap metal..
anyway. again, im ignorant in this matter, since i only play xbl at my friends. but if you have a silver account do you get voice chat, buddy lists? acheivments, and gamertags?
no idea, but if you get all these with silver...all you pay for is online. and frankly, i know you need to look at the overall package, but id rather have spore than a year of paying to play online.
Anyone who pays 8$ a month for that service better either be rich or just a tard. It adds up to so much money and is just ridiculous. Free online access should be standard, period.mrxdemixSo 49.99 divided by 12 equals 8 dollars a month. You need to take a math class.

Those are games you are talking about and not services. Asheron's Call was owned by Turbine Entertainment and published by Microsoft. Turbine bought both fanchisesback from M$ in 2003.

I don't see PSN crushing anything at this point since Sony doesn't control the 3rd party developers servers. Sony only manages their 1st party gaming network servers. So the quality of the service will vary from game to game. Not good.
PSN already offers about the same stuff as XBL but with no online Fee. As for Home...it's debateable. I don't see it as important unless it focuses solely on gaming. I don't want to be standing in someone's "House" only to start playing a game with them an hour later after talking to them for an hour. It needs to be solely gaming focused. Does PSN crush XBL? No...definitely not.
Comparing 2 MMOs to an online gaming infrastructure? Apples to oranges don't you think?Fignewton50
no kidding

A silver account on Xbox live is totally free, and you can do everything except play your online games, and to be honest, you guys are whining like little school girls over $4.17 a month, thats pretty sad, it really is, makes me wonder how you justified over spending for an inferior system

actually here in Canada M$ charges $8.99 per month, thats if you choose the one month plan, for 12 months its $59.99 either way it doesnt make much sense since our dollar is the same as Americans, we should be paying the same.... but some companies are just money hungry
btw I'm not complaining I just think it isn't fair
