Yesterday in a heated IM discussion about which of the three console makers is going to have the strongest line-up this year, a friend of mine who works at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan blurted out that Sony's internal studios have up their sleeves more than 20 yet-to-be-revealed projects for PlayStation 3.
Intrigued by this I asked if he could give me some examples. Project Siren (makers of the Forbidden Siren franchise), Team Saru (creators of the Ape Escape series) and Team ICO are three of the studios who're getting ready to reveal their new projects this year. After some more pushing, he told me that all he knows about Team ICO is that the team is working on two games, both for PS3.

My guess now is that Team ICO is indeed working on two games, none of which is for PSP. Most probably one is for PSN (hence the need of staff specialized in networking technology) and the other is headed for a Blu-ray disc release.

Maybe Fumito Ueda's words at the end of 2007 do show that his team is preparing an announcement.

In other news, a recent study cited one prominent newspaper editor who stated that people do not trust media because of "too many unnamed sources".

Shadow of the Colussus next gen... omg. I doubt they will do that though, but i'm very interested in seeing what Team ICO has up there sleeves, making 2 games in the same year is a huge accomplishmnet for them. Shadow of the Colossus, and ICO took a long time to develop each, and they were many years apart.

Nike_Air

That is an amazing idea about releasing SotC on PSN, especially if there were upgraded visuals. I wouldn't expect much, but I wouldn't have to cause the game already looks amazing.

I would wonder how co-op would work with the original colossi though. Would it make things to easy? I would also love to see what new types of colossi they would release.

Such a great idea.

EVERYONE has a pile of unannounced projects in the works. E3 is coming up, and people are saving their announcements for then, or for TGS later in the year.

So I lied. I had a pistol that I never used until the end. Other than that, though, it was wrench only (I didn't even use any PSI besides the telekinesis).

Something must be wrong here i have inside information from a very reliable source from sony. The guy said that sony is to be bought by microsoft and that ms will be using the ps3 as a standalone blu-ray player that will sell for 200$. Next time double check your source.

Ha still sounds like fun though. I was just wondering if there was some thing I didn't remember or bug to kill her with a wrench, which would be funny.

I only actually did the run over the Christmas Break, and the first time I played SS2 was over Thanksgiving. It, therefore, is quite solidly imprinted in my mind at the moment :)

What really sucked, though, was that I needed nanites to hack, and I had none left, as I had just bought a ton of med hypos, so I had to go back to my last save, which was BEFORE the fight with the uber-brain so I could conserve modules to use for the item-into-nanite power...That fight sucked the first time, and don't even get me started on the second time...

:)

Based on data from Screen Digest, the report places Sony as the third most resourced games software publisher in the world, stating that "Sony Computer Entertainment Studios employs some 2,200 developers across 14 different studios… it has more programmers, artists, audio technicians and designers than Microsoft and Nintendo combined."

http://spong.com/article/11947/Sony%20Bigger%20Than%20Nintendo%20And%20Microsoft%20Combined?cb=495

Its possible that do have 20 aunnounced exclusive..They already have 15 or more exclusive games coming out this year..

Not to question the thread's integrity, but... I know soapbox shouting hobo's who are more trustworthy then -Renegade. I don't DOUBT there are a number of projects in the works for all consoles that haven't been announced. But until there'sSOME substance... why hype it? Are we really THAT desperate for SW fodder?

I mean, sure. Argue over hypothetical sequels and possible multiplats or delayed multiplats or what ever despite a lack of any real evidence. That's what system wars is about. But now we're supposed to get excited and debate the relative merits of games we know absolutely nothing about beyond their developer? Has it really gotten so bad that we have twits hyping UNNAMED unannounced games AAA now?

I remember a rumor from at least 2 years ago, that Team ICO were already developing SOTC2 for the PS3. The main interest point was that there will be new Colossi that dwarfed the largest from the first game, and required multiple players to take down. When they reveal what they are working on (Team ICO), I wouldn't be surprised if they show us near finished work.

Yes, it has a lot of undefined, unnamed, untitled projects, that most will never see the light of day

Plus most will be of questionable quality IMO

But let them announce them first alright, anyone can say has 500 projects in the works, but until we see them is just crap talk to me
