Hideo Kojima, the creator of the greatest stealth game MGS and now working on the highly enticipated MGS4 exclusive to PS3

Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the greatest racing game GT and now working on the highly enticipated GT5 obviously only for PS3

Jason Rubin, the creator of one of the greatest platformers Crash bandicoot & Jak series, now working on Uncharted for PS3, a killer app ofcourse.

David Jaffe, the creator of the greatest adventure game GOW1&2 and will be making his way to PS3

Fumito Ueda, the creator of the most original and inspiring games Ico & SoTC and now working on a highly enticipated PS3 project, nothing is know at this moment

Motomu Toriyama, one of the main people behind the fantastic Final Fantasy games, now working on and directing the up coming PS3 exclusive Final Fantasy 13, a killer app for sure

Ted Price, the creator of the most wacky and amazingly fun game Ratchet & Clank, he also created the first true killer app for PS3 which is RFOM. Now working on a next gen Ratchet & Clank exclusive to PS3.

I'm sure their are probably more but these guys are well known for creating absolutely the greatest games within a genre. Yes their are great developers for Nintendo and Microsoft but you can't deny the fact that Sony has some of the greatest minds working for them.

With cows and their low standards it does not surprise me that they would say that. Anyway everybody in that list is good but they are not the best minds out there.

ROFL at calling MGS the greatest stealth games when there are series like Splinter Cell and Thief that roundhouse kick MGS in the stealth genre. Yes, it's a great game, and the only PS3 exclusive I really want, but it' by no means the greatest stealth ever.

With cows and their low standards it does not surprise me that they would say that.

RFOM might have not been AAA on gamespot but it was the greatest launch game on PS3, sales wise also. A killer app doesn't have to be AAA you know, use you brain next time guys.

Anyway everybody in that list is good but they are not the best minds out there.

Evo310whp

They have created the best games within their genre...

MGS - the greatest stealth game

GT - the greatest racing game

GOW - the greatest aadventure game

J&D, R&C - the greatest platform games

Ico, SoTC - the greatest original games

FF - the greatest RPG's

now tell me those guys are not the greatest games developers

let me point out a tiny flaw in your logic. You assume the past owns the future. The video game industry is world famous for hanging former giants out to dry when a new gen takes hold.

jachichorro

MGS created the stealth genre back in 88 and then they reinvented it in 3D back in 97, since then MGS has been getting better and better with gameplay, story, graphics and sound. I admit Splinter Cell is good but no where as good as MGS plus sales don't lie: MGS sold 6 million+, MGS2 sold 7 million+ and MGS3 sold 4.5 million+. MGS4 will be the pinnecle of the stealth genre

lol, GT was the greatest and the biggest selling game of last generation, it pwns every other racer.

:| umm NG is an action game and I said GOW is the greatest adventure game.

Mario was the platform leader in the 90's but in the turn of the century R&C, J&D are better platformer games, plus Mario has been milked way too much but I believe Mario Galaxy will make Mario great again.

FF is the most well known and respected RPG, so I believe it is the greatest.

You have almost no clue what you're talking about.

First, sales =/= quality. Second, he said Splinter cell and thief are better at STEALTH, whereas you countered with MGS being the better overall game, without making any mention to the stealth portions. And third, GOW is an adventure game? :|

MGS did not invent the stealth genre... and it's not that much of a stealth game nowadays anyway... Splinter cell buries it for stealthy-ness....

the reviews about GT say different... it's tired....

GOW?  good game.

since you're talking about new platformers, Psychonauts is way better than J&D for that..

FF has been surpassed by many other better rpg...Oblivion comes to mind...;)

MS FP NAME wise lacks.....but game wise Halo series MAss effect Gears of war Fozra.... and to your comment about JD being better platoformers now...take a look at the new SMB on the DS. Sales wise and score wise. Itll prove you wrong. SMG will be a much stronger title than a J and D OR a R and C

I don't see anyone providing constructive lists that says otherwise. Sony has got one hell of a 1st Party lineup.

1 - A killer app is a game that pushes a console's sales and justifies buying it, not always the best game available for a console at a given moment. So RFOM is certainly not a killer app, but games like Halo 3, MGS4, FFXIII and others can be.

2 - MGS has a poor stealth implementation, although being a great game. Splinter Cell and Thief smashes it in the stealth department.

3 - Forza>GT. Sorry but that's just the way it is. I'd rather be driving my own customized unique car than to choose one from 10 different Civics.

4 - Ninja Gaiden>GoW

5 - LOL Mario. That's all i have to say.

6 - And FF being greatest the greatest RPG series, maybe if you only count JRPG, and even then it's debatable.
tango90101

TC owned enough or still needing more counter-arguments?

You have almost no clue what you're talking about.

First, sales =/= quality. Second, he said Splinter cell and thief are better at STEALTH, whereas you countered with MGS being the better overall game, without making any mention to the stealth portions. And third, GOW is an adventure game? :|

shadow_lord_11

*sigh* Kojima finds new ways to implement stealth while Splinter Cell does the same old hide in the dark routine, MGS2 and MGS3 wre completely different in using stealth, one was all about not letting the enemies see you while the other about camouflaging so the enemy don't notice you. Kojima doesn't do the same old stealth routines, he uses new ways to implement stealth.

oh and yes GOW is an adventure game, an epic adventure game.

I don't even understand why people try to argue that sonys 1st party is close to Nintendos, sure sony had a few good games but it doesn't even come close to nintendo's. ffs the only thing that kept the cube alive was nintendo's 1st party games. R&C, J&D, Mario owns them over and over in every way posible sales and scores. GoW gets owned by Zelda one of the only games on gamespot to get a 10, has for raceing sony has nintendo but I am sure there are still better raceing games out there better then sonys. Thats the only good games I can think of that sony's 1st party made, if theres more then please tell me. (and I mean good games, don't say killzone).

Final fantasy may have been surpassed but Oblivion cant be really called a RPG if you treat MGS as a non -stealth game

Be fair, Oblivion is a very watered down RPG and FF is more of an rpg than oblivion can be

Oblivion is action adventure with RPG elements

I agree with the rest of it

All 3 consoles and the PC have great gaming minds working for them.  Arguing over which famous game designer is best is going to be more pointless than system wars in general.
