Sony: Heavy Rain graphics blows Uncharted 2 away. New graphic king confirmed?

Wow Sony... This is how you treat Naughty Dog after they make a nice game for your system? :?

Ughh thats not saying much when you have nothing going on, but pretty images. Zero AI, or several other features that normally take CPU power can be devoted 100% to graphics.

we already had a thread. Also wasent it the heavy rain PR guy who made this statement. NOT SONY

I am would agree. So far everything we've seen from heavy rain has been outstanding. It is alot like playing a sports or race game, you are in a very limited space so they can really jack up the graphics. You can still control the character and naviagte the enviroment, but not nearly as much as in a game such as uncharted. I will hold off final judgement untill i play the game fully myself.

Of course. Sadly Heavy Rain is not a movie though. I mean I am controlling the characters, watching cutscenes right? Its ok though, 360 fanboys think otherwise. I like that fake PSN id too btw :)

i think they could pretty much pack in ALOT for Heavy Rain simply because you don't really move like Drake in the sense that you don't have too much exploration going on, just scripted events. and with that, you can do alot more. just how God of War 3 is graphically amazing because of its fixed camera angle. im pretty sure if GoW3 had a free cam it wouldnt be as beautiful because the framerate may dip a little or something like that. same goes for Heavy Rain. you got a confined space for a level, scripted animations, AI, movement that are/may be unique to each stage, etc. just like how an open-world game wouldnt be as good-looking as a linear game.

The only reason Heavy Rain looks any bit as good as U2 is because it's a gigantic interactive cutscene, so color me unimpressed.

Not surprised. They've had a lot of time and money go into the graphics department. Unlike Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain doesn't have the TPS/Action Adventure gameplay to take away from graphical development. And the development time was much longer.

Of course, when you consider just about everything's prerendered and there's barely any gameplay, its quite easy to make a game this good looking.

This 'game' will get a 7.5 here at GS. Quote me on it. If I'm wrong then I'll eat one of my old PS2 games and post pics.

Also, no. Crysis is graphics king. You may want to edit the word 'console' in there TC.

i wonder if heavy rain looks better because its mainly compiled of a QTE system.....u2 had alot more animations and physics and AI to deal with.....who knows.....stereointegrity

based on what i've seen from vids and demos, i think it is graphically. but i have no doubt that U2 is the better game IMO.
