Sony IP: past, present, future

Compiling a list of Sony IPs, many of them are still around today on PS4 while many others are dead in the water long ago. I broke the list into continued franchises, new franchises, remakes/remasters and dead IP.

Overall, I think Sony has done a decent job at keeping much of their IP alive but there are definitely a few which deserve a comeback. Which games would you want to see come back for PS5?

Basically Sony are in a very good place going into next generation.

I’d love to see a new Legend of Dragoon game.

I would buy a ps5 for more Resistance and Dead Nation

I'd want more/the return of Omega Boost, Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, GoW, Spider-Man, and MLB: The Show.

They have a good slate of ips going for them, but man I wish they had not shut down Light Box, Eat Sleep Play, and Evolution.

Evolution Studios made World Rally Championship, Motorstorm and Driveclub

Astro Bot needs to come back. It's the only 3D platforming rival Mario has at the moment.

Ratchet and Clank would be great too.

Yeah, Evolution made Motorstorm. I always held out hope Sony would have them make a new Jet Moto, but alas...

Sony has excellent IPs. They need to dig up some of the gold that they buried.

Damn I miss Socom. Cmon sony,get the dudes making H Hour, hire some more devs and give a bigger budget and just rename H Hour as Socom. It's that simple.

They killed their fantastic JRPG titles and franchises and also still no Bloodborne 2 yet.

SOCOM is life... SOCOM 5 for the PS5. Make it happen!!!!!!!!!

I wish Sony would give "Lemmings" a new console iteration.

Oh, and it's owned under the Sony Pictures umbrella, not Sony Computer, but it also owns Q*Bert, but as the movie branch of the company isn't worried about selling consoles, it has no problem with the IP being used for multi-platform.

That list is the reason I never bought a PS3/4 and you can add 5 to that.

Sony's best ever game is not on the list, it should be on the dead list but somehow the OP missed it.

This list has way more in quantity and variety than Microsoft, which only has Gears, Halo, Forza, Forza Horizon, Fable, Sea of Thieves, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, Recore, Ori....uh......not sure what else they own.

I'd like to see Motorstorm comeback

For my fellow Socom Fans, Ghost Recon Wildlands PVP is very similar to Socom. I would give that a try.

I don't think Socom would do well in the current MP market. There's just so much competition.

Same here. LoD is a gem that was only slightly overshadowed by the release of FF8.

Why not just buy a Nintendo product such as Switch? No need to buy Sony's console when you can get fun gameplay from Nintendo. (This is just all my opinion but you can't go wrong with Switch's offerings)

Same. I still own the original I keep around as a collectible but would love for this game to make a comeback. Wouldn't mind a new Resistance, Motorstorm, Twisted Metal, Syphon Filter, & SOCOM.

Quantic Dream is trying to move away from Sony which I think it great. On a further note, I don't think Sony should buy Quantic Dream.

I think Sony should make a Order 1886 sequel since it would upset the "Sony makes movie games" critics.

Also, I would like Sony making new SOCOM and Resistance games to compete with COD and Battlefield not in microstransations but in fps genre.

@watercrack445: I would gladly welcome The Order: 1887 (1886 sequel) cause that last game left a hefty cliffhanger and I want to know what happened to Galahad and more. While I'm inclined saying no to MP, I would welcome such a thing if it'll help keep the game relevant for a long time. The Order: 1887 on PS5 please Sony.

@davillain-: Because I wouldn't use the Switch as when I leave my house 99% of the time I'm driving so the Switch would only ever be used at home.

I did consider buying one last Xmas but it was going to be for my kids for long drives, but the damn thing is so expensive over here. Now I can easily afford it as money isn't the issue, justifying spend over $400 dollars is the issue.

Well, in my defense, Dr. Suess hated kids and his books were originally not targeted towards children. It was targeted towards adults, college students and high school students.

@i_p_daily: Spending over $400 for a Switch, I can agree if it's not something you wouldn't use all the time, it wouldn't justify money's worth in the long run. If it comes downs to $200, it's something to consider for the whole family to enjoy.
