SONY Is Backing Microsoft up in a Corner!!

Doesnt anyone see whats happening here. Lets face it, Sony is backing microsoft in a corner. I mean think about it, sure games are delayed for this holiday season but my god, look at how awesome 2008 will be for sony.. UT3, MGS4,Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2 and Tekken 6 all coming out for PS3 next year not to mention the multiplat titles such as GTA IV and Dark sector. Not only that but the $399.99 40 GB is really pushing microsoft in a corner. You might say that all Micorosoft has to do is lower the price of the 360 even more BUT you are forgetting that MS is still losing TONS of money on the 360 and lowering the price any further will SEVERLY HURT Microsoft's gaming division.

So lets look at the big picture shall we. next year we will have a $399.99 PS3 with awesome games,Blu ray, built in Wifi, RELIABLE With no Hardware issues unlike the 360 ring of death and it will only be $50.00 more than a 360 not to mention with Home and Little big planet coming out next year as well with FREE ONLINE!! How can Microsoft compete with that?! I mean sure they might have GTA IV but so will PS3. Microsoft has no killer apps announced for next year and no Halo wars, Alan Wake and Ninja Gaiden are not killer aps. Im talking about killer aps such as MGS4, Halo 3, Gears, Gran Turismo. So far MS has no killer apps lined up for next year.

few questions:

1) will AAA games stop coming for x360 all of a sudden during 2008?

2) what will happen to the large library of AAA titles the x360 already gathered since launch when 2008 comes? will they disappear?

3) what about 2009?

Your logic is flawed.

MS has ANOTHER holiday season to put more 360s into gamers hands. The more 360s that are in gamers hands, the more developers will favor the 360.

As much as Sony fans like to tout that 2008 will be "Sony's year" the 360 will have plenty of great games in 2008 as well. But 2007 will definately, especially with this holiday season, be a big boost to the 360 console, and that effect could last the entire generation.

2008 will be a great year to get the PS3. I will probably pick one up eventually. I do, however, feel sorry for the early adopters, as Sony has completely failed their hardcore fanbase.

Right now Microsoft has Sony in the corner and Sony has to fight back.

No, but other than Gears of War, Halo 3, and possibly Mass Effect, there isn't much to hold onto.

Actually it was reported here on gamespot that halo 3 pushed the 360 into profit. a very small profit but now they are starting to make profit off the console. the only reason they lost money off it was beause of the 3 yr warrenty they put out for it and not because the hardware was too expensive to make.. the ps3 costs easiy 600-800 bucks to make with the monster hardware that thing has, sony is still also loosing money on their console. its not a cheap thing to do.. i will find the link about ms making profit now and post it in a few mins

The list of games rated GOOD or better stands at 150.

List of highly rated games on the XBOX 360

The multiplats are better on the 360 about 80% of the time. The multiplats have quite often been released first on the 360, some upto a year before the PS3. Not to mention, the 360 EXCLUSIVE list is larger than the PS3. You really know very little about gaming, it seems.

PS3 = $500 and Blue Ray = $1000 so.... that comes out to -$500 with 1 peace of equipment, not to mention the rest of the machine. So if Sony lowers the price they'll lose more money.

SONY is indeed backing Microsoft into a corner...... but it's a corner filled with AAA games, more marketshare, and better online. I'd gladly go to that corner instead of the barren, center of the room that SONY controls.

Well, there are actually as the other guy has already pointed out. Even if there weren't, this is supposed to be about the TC proving to me that MS is being backed into a corner...so for that to happen, Sony would need about that many decent games, at least.

When it was first released they were losing around $400 per console sold. I am sure they are less expensive to produce now, especially with the removal of the PS2 chip.

no their not, because they are using a cheap a** low end blu ray player.. an expensive quality blu ray player is well over 1000 bucks. so if sony can put one in their console and price it for 399. then they are either loosing 500 or more on each console. or the blu ray player is a peice of crap
