Yeah right, best part is 10 dvd-9's :roll: Let me do a little calculation dvd-9 = 7.95 GB 10 x 7.95 = ~ 80 GB Blue Ray Disc Capacity 25 GB (single layer) 50 GB (dual layer) Something is wrong here :roll: But i guess you are just one of those people paid by Sony to spread false rumours and hype And btw., we have seen games more creative than LBP and R2, and Dual Shock 3 is not best controller on planet

PS3 is my favorite console right now (just barely), but man is this thread ridiculous.
MGS4 was only 30 gigs not the full 50gigs of the disc. Mutiple installs shows that Blu-Ray for games was a secondary thought. BD@ 1x Does not equal DvD-Rom@ 12x no matter how much cows swear it is. 360 has surpass the PS3 in NA in YTD sales by 71,000 (and this is before the 2 biggest months of the season). Goodluck with the trolling...
Yes, the PS3 has the most potential and has the longest life cycle this gen. It's the best console this gen. People will get two jobs just to get a PS3.

You sound like a Sony rep auditioning for an advertisement. The XBox 360 has the best online gaming server and the most quality games to be played on it. The XBox 360 price starts at $200. All DVD movies can be upscaled to 1080p on the XBox 360 when played, so Blu-Ray isn't needed. Both Resistance 2 and LBP could easily be made for the XBox 360 with no quality lossed. Besides playing Blu-Ray movies and having a larger store media, there is nothing the PS3 can do, that the XBox 360 can't match. XBox 360 is already domination the pre holiday season. It has outsold the PS3 worldwide for the last 8 weeks. I don't see the PS3 dominating in 2008 holiday. We don't know what will happen in 2009. Cow said 2008 was suppose to be the year of the PS3, but it wasn't. Besides MGS4, all the other PS3 exclusives have either gotten low scores or low sales. Resistance 2 and LBP are impressive games, but their overall sales are pathetic for games of that calibur. Both of those games should have sold over a million copies by now. It's sad really.

Thirdly, Blu-Ray has a consistant read speed across the entire disc while DVD doesn't. It's the difference between Constant Linear Velocity and Constant Angular Velocity (CLV vs CAV). So that basically means the '12x' speed isn't reached on a DVD except for that last string of 1's and 0's on the outskirts of the disk. But really, yes. Blu-Ray is slower than the average speed of a Dual layer DVD9. But the difference in speed is minimal.

First of all the BD is 2x. Secondly, It's a dual layer DVD, so it reads (marginally) slower than a normal DVD. Thirdly, Blu-Ray has a consistant read speed across the entire disc while DVD doesn't. You can hope all you want, but I think Sony made a blistering mistake by not lowering the price of the PS3. Lower price in March = too little, too late!
