Vicious Sid: Would Sony ever consider releasing an updated "pro" Sixaxis controller, maybe with offset analog sticks and rumble support at a slightly higher price?

Jack Tretton: We used to have a narrow approach to controllers. If you really wanted to [move outside the standard controller], we left it up to third party manufacturers. But now we're moving to a regional approach. You will see peripherals coming from SCEA that will address the interests of the U.S. consumer. I don't have anything to tell you specifically, but we're certainly open to changing the Sixaxis controller if it addressed North American gamers.

I like yes or no answers. I have no idea what Mr. Tretton just said :P But hopefully, the Sixaxis will have rumble re-incorporated at some point.

Not really. I was planning on buying new controllers anyway for multiplayer games. Now if I had purchased them already, then I would be upset.

I wouldn't be surprised, like I predicted, the executive shake-up has been a very good move by Sony.

they did this with the ps1 when they came out with duel analog, so i dont see why they wouldnt do this now, especially when theres not that many people out there with a ps3

I wouldn't think they'd need to. The PS3 can have an effect on the market without it. It might all depend if it is a determined factor.

But the PS3 can survive without it. In a sence it would make them look such the hypocrites from last years E3 if they did.

But I thought rumble interfered with the delicate sixaxis motion sensing...lol I know thats all BS from the start. I read about that Immersion lawsuit well over a year ago. PS3 needs it and I hope they bring it back. But, it means devs are going to have to go back and add the rumble feature after sony already told them they wouldn't be using it on the PS3. Makes you head spin doesn't it?

I want Dualshock 1and 2 support. Just what sony was thinking with the PS3's L2/R2 buttons?
