Sony on pace to SHATTER MS billion $$$ loss record. Now who looks DUMB???

All we heard was MS lost 4-5 billion on Xbox 1.

Now look kiddies Sony has already lost over 3 billion on PS3 and not even year 2 yet. So it seems Sony will obliterate What MS lost on Xbox 1 when all is said and done. And some analysts are doubting if Sony will ever turn a profit on PS3.

Sure go ahead and say na who cares. Well you guys should Sony does not have even close the deep pockets like MS. And Sony investors may say NO WAY and pull the plug for a PS4:roll:

And the PS3 is under the games division. Obviously the PS3 is not killing Sony. Its not even hurting the games division. So much for Sony not having deep pockets and killing the PS4...

And the PS3 is selling well, and its software is picking up quite well, so I don't see any issue with future profitability.

By then the PS3 will be profitable. Its steadily selling better and better, and as it moves forward and the software library expands it will only make more money for Sony.

Your thread is really more like something that should have came up in early 2007 when the PS3 really was appearing to tank.

I know that. But like the huge losses on the Xbox and Xbox 360, MS and Sony both knew they were going to lose money in the short term to make money in the long run.

The RRoD $1 Billion was a bad hit, because it was unexpected, but MS could absorb it with their massive cash flow.

This $3.3 Billion was not unexpected and is not too large for Sony. It was a calculated risk to spend money to make money, and from the looks of it, it seems like it was a good decision after all.

The difference is sony's losses have been declining significantly from year to year, MS's has been a lot more consistent.munu9

I'm talking about since the xbox came out, this is one of the few times when they actually started making profit, before that they've been losing money on the xbox (and 360) for many, many years...

He said the RRoD billion was a shock, which it was. That's different than normal loss on a system for the first couple of years.

i believe that if MSFT reports a profit this quarter that will 4 quarters of profit, so their probably on the verge of reporting a profitable year
