I just thought i would bring this to light since the X1 is getting alot of heat from people that wear tin foil hats, claiming it will spy on you. So which is worse, a company spying on you or a company supporting terrorism? The above artiles go into detail about the sanctions against Iran and how Sony is violating this sanctions, claiming they will continue to do so.

Why shouldn't japanese company's be allowed to do that? It's the us and eu that are imposing the sanctions, not japan.

If Iran wants to build a Nuke that targets the U.S. then YES, the U.S. should have a say in it.

"Sony sold almost $13 million in video and medical equipment to dealers in Dubai that resold the gear in Iran"

"Since Sony is based in Japan, its not clear the company violated any provisions of a U.S. law "

Even for Lems this is desperate.

Since sony isn't a us based company, that means that the us shouldn't have a say in it. And they're not selling nuclear weapons to Iran -_______-

Easy Mario. Yes MS did buy Project Natal from the Jews, a small company about the size of Naughty Dog. The brought the tech back to the U.S. and turned into the soon to be Kinect 2.0. How is this wrong?

its not wrong but u are saying that people that did any sort of wrong should not be sold sony electronics "iran". killing jesus is a much bigger than any wrong iran did yet m$ invested in them. either way if companies want to sell ther products to sinless people only they will sell nothing at all. i dont get how sony selling to iran is worst than ms investing in israel.

imo both seem normal

Iran = terrorists?  lol

Anyways, the US govt does plenty to create and fund such groups.  Sony selling to a country that may have a few cells doesn't equate supporting terrorism.

You Americans should stop forcing others to do whatever the hell you want, if a Japanese company wants to sell equipment to Iran then they should have the right to do so and besides this is medical equipment we are talking about not weapons, Im sure there are chances this equipment may end up in the hands of civilians in Iran who have absolutly nothing to do with terrorism

Yeah because spying all over the world is not breaking all those country laws..

Contragate or the Iran-Contra scandal, was a political scandal in the United States that came to light in November 1986. During the Reagan administration, senior administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo.

I laughed at the title before I even read the thread and the article. :)

There has been quite a few of these popping up recently, trying to bash the company as a whole rather than the console and the games.

Silly.

And even if someone does want to bash an entire company outright, I'm almost certain that all 3 companies have dealt with conflict materials.  These aren't angels, these are global businesses.  They all have dirt on their hands, its kind of dumb trying to single one out.

Sony actually sold the video and medical equipment to a third party (Dubai) which turned around and sold it to Iran.

And since when does video/medical equipment = WMD/terrorism?  Whoever wrote that article is grasping at straws.

I think Japan learned its lesson after WWII. I highly doubt they will do anything to upset the United States again. All Americans have to worry about when it comes to Japan is what the meat is made out of in resturaunts.

Besides that. Most of the weapons that the Middle Eastern Terrorist have were sold to them by the US during their scrap with The former Soviet Union.. So we are as much to blame as anyone else.
