Sony or Microsoft: Which Has Better First Party Game Developers?

Sony on paper, though they still have yet to deliver. i'm sure it will happen. the team ico stuff alone puts them over the top.

Agree on the ICO part. Sony is on top in my opinion, jak and daxter, ratchet, uncharted, HS, resistance.

LOL. Finished GT 4 at 10%, compare to Forza it's trash. Never saw the end of GoW 1/2 cause after NG it feels pretty low and I didn't finish both. Played FF 12 demo - forgot about it.

It's tough to call really; Metal Gear Solid would be my favourite game of the bunch, and that's Sony. However i also couldn't live without Halo or Ninja Gaiden and those are both microsoft. I think if i had to only have one console i'd probably go with microsoft, as it's better to have more AAA games. Missing out on MGS would be tough though. :P

That's so very, very wrong. :?

Forza was better than GT4. Forza 2 is the best racer on any console right now. While i expect GT5 to be better; there'll probably be a whole new Forza by then. At the very least the two are on equal standing in terms of quality. You could never catagorically say one is better than the other.

And Jak and Daxter > Conker? Again, tough to say. Jak and Daxter is awsome, but that's a whole franchise. There's only ever been one conker game (kinda), and it was awesome too.

Please dont be pedantic. That's pointing out the obvious; neither sony nor microsoft make any serious number (if any these days) of games. They rely on a number of developers who they have exclusive publishing deals with. They are practically a substitute for first-party games. Call it second party if you will.

Because previously those games were not owned by microsoft. They were published by microsoft, eidos, whatever company wanted to publish the game.

Microsoft has now bought the rights to Ninja Gaiden 2; it is a microsoft game studios published game.

It's not pedantic. Only first party devs are ensuring constant stream of new games. Exclivity deals with third party devs end sooner or later and devs leave. Tons of devs that made games that were published by Microsoft are no longer working with MS

we all now that sony has brought so many great games in the last 3 gens that micosoft can only dream of.

naughty dog, insominac,ico ect. there so many.

games like twisted metal,hot shot golf,nba,nbl,ico,shadow of collosis,rachet and clank,jak,uncharted,resistance,gt,motorstorm,god of war, man it is hard to remember so many first party games sony has brought to us. this is why im trying to figure out why people left sony when only 30% has made a ps 3 game.

ICO, SOTC, GoW, GT series, Socom?. There are actually quite a few but these are all that I can remember atm (not 100% sure but I think these are made by SCE).
