Do you think Sony has done well as a company overall?

I probably see them ending up in third but the fact that hey basically are taking over DVD with BR is a huge victory in itself. The system is still considered sucessful and has already sold more then the previous Xbox and Gamecube so even if they end up in third they did better then the competiton did the last generation not to mention they had no place to go but down. They dominated the industry for over two generations.

They're smarter in the sense that they plan consoles not just for an immediate effect, they think ahead.

BR is owned by about a dozen companies... not just sony

they compare the sales of a system with its predecessor, not the predecessors competitors... especially comparing a current system to systems that stopped selling years ago

the system itself is a failure based solely on the fact that it went from 1st place to last place... that is the business side of things.

however, in terms of games, they have been doing really well

dvd is not dead so no they aint taking over

theyve always been 2nd in japan 3rd us swaping in other teritorys between 3rd and 2nd ,

they are dead last as a result,

and lets compare current systems to past -the right way not comparing ps3 to gc or xbox,

but wii to gc ps3 to ps2 xbox360 to xbox etc

so the way i see it ms and nintendo have done better this gen with their system then sony has with theirs in terms of overall sales,

heck nintendos 125 percent raise in sales compared to gc

ms is about 20 percent raise in sales from xbox and

sony well

they have declined 100 percent in sales, -125 to 25 ,

sony has just barely past gc sales, /xbox sales so keep it shut ,,

wait technically wii is a gamecube , hahaha so no , , no sir they didnt ,

its a true successor ,

in developers eyes wii has won , , its got more support, then sony , and ms shares support with nintendo ,

this year they did better other years did incredibly bad and then went to 3rd place in video game industry. but they did good with there other bussinises like the HD Tv's movies, district 9 and vaio laptops
