From the same documents as the thread that talks about Sony keeping games out of Gamepass
What game/s, though?
Because there's a huge gap in terms of technical stuff between the PS4 version and PC version of HZD, and that's a 1st party Sony game.
There you have it, why Control Ultimate Edition had to come to Xbox and why people had to double dip, because Ps5 couldn't do Smart Delivery.
If you think MS doesn't do this too...
we have no proof they do or don't .. we do have proof Sony does this
Sure, but what I'm saying is if you think that MS doesn't this too then, well, you're being kinda naive. I mean, these are soulless corporations we're talking about here, both MS and Sony. Of course they do crap like this.
Not saying you personally do or don't think that, mind you.
Initiate damage control code MSDOESIT2. 😂
Whoa, whoa, hey now. I'm not saying Sony isn't a bad guy. They most certainly are. Paying to keep games off other systems is straight up garbage, and Sony is garbage for doing it so much. It's every bit as much garbage as paying for parity is.
So if ps5 games in near future need to be 1080p because it can't go higher than that is going to force development on other superior systems the same ? Such pathetic move.

Any company paying to undermine the purchase of a game on any platform is playing dirty as far as I am concern. If you paid $60 for a game on your preferred platform, you should get the same content as someone who games on another platform for the same price. However, this exclusive content to specific platforms for the same price is not in gamers interest. That has been my stance for ages.
The document does say "subject to material technical limitations" which I interpret as make it run as well as possible on our system can run it, and it's OK if it looks better on a more powerful platform (PC, XSX) as long as the reason for it looking better on another system is that the system is more powerful (and not because it got a more favorable treatment). Seems fine to me tbh

I agree. That was my original meaning pretty much; I actually meant more than just MS. I'm sure MS does this too. I'm sure Nintendo does in some way as well. I think they're all bad guys. Any console company that does crap like this, absolutely. It is a horrible practice. Totally anti-consumer and shouldn't be tolerated.
I thought MS had a gazillion dollars and Sony was broke? How is Sony outbidding MS?
Our ps5's are very underpowered, and this needed to be done tbh.
I'll wait for actual confirmation of this from either Sony or Capcom. It reeks of an Xbot with too much time on their hands.

Lol wtf are you talking about. They gave the PS5 version of control away on PS+.
The more Sony acts like this and puts their money in this instead of improving their games, the more I'm happy with my decision to skip out on the PS5. Moving forward, Sony is showing a very ugly side of themselves.

um it can... its on micrsoft own servers... psn is running on and such.
@hardwenzen: Now we know that their PS5 budget wasn't spent on the SSD, but on keeping games off gamepass. If gamepass didn't exist, we would have had a PS5 that outpowered the XSX like the ps4 outpowered xbone. Well played MS.

Remember when you said Sony would force R* to do parity for the X/PRO versions of RDR2, and how it never happened LMFAO, at least Sony can bully little old crapcom lol.
@Pedro: Comn pedro, you're better than the personal attacks you've been giving lately. But you're right... if I was smart, I probably wouldn't be on a gaming forum replying to people I don't know.

You didn't need to wait for clarification yesterday when you had so much time on you hands you dreamt up that bullshit theory about MLB developers having low moral due to working on a game that was now on the Xbox.
Subject to material limitations though. Which means if the hardware (Xbox, PC) is more powerful. It also says they can’t make a game that has less features or content. I believe MS had a similarly parity clause back in the day. This is pretty normal looking stuff.

Sony apologist is here
Why would Sony need this if PS5 is as good as Series X?
The PS5 is actually a bit stronger, but the full potential of the SSD needs to be unlocked with the upcoming summer update.
This is Sony playing 5D Chess.
Buys a discount outdated GPU, then pays developers to artificially limit development on the competition.
Says Game Pass model is unsustainable, then charges players $70 for each game and uses that money to take games away from Game Pass.
Genius strategy.
Ok the flame was fun but close thread.
Context: People found a marketing deal contract between Sony and Capcom and are misinterpreting it. The wording doesn't say what people assume it does.

These type of marketing deals aren't new to Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo and have been a thing for years.
For example, here is the Xbox publisher license agreement which has the same wording. And this isn't even for a marketing deal.https://t.co/eRWhIMtuV2pic.twitter.com/6qhnllEAbX

To further clarify.

None of these clauses mean "Make the other console version worse / make our console version superior".
I don't know why people are interpreting it that way. The wording in both is very clear.
